I kinda feel that BM have stopped looking into N18's tune and went on to bigger an better things. Was really hoping for a jb4 or a updated jb+ tune for the N18's.

Been a while, since I checked on this thread. I've been running the JB+ for 5 months now. The car is running smooth, with no issues. I'm running it at 50%. Anyone came across any issues?

Quick follow up, I feel I found my cars sweet spot with this module. 70% is what my mini likes. Great boost and just overall aggressive throttle response. I feel like my mini smoked a little PCP. So far no codes and just running 93 octane.

Hi guy,

I have seen "bio flame ethanol" for $10/3.78l at rona. And I was wondering if we could use it in our cars the same way as "e85". Is it the same? I have write an email to them and they say the mix is 95% ethanol and 5 % methanol. Sound great for us in Canada where we dont have access to e85 !

Good or bad idea ?

The reason they mix in methanol is probably to avoid any tax associated with ethanol because now you can't drink it.

If you want to use an ethanol mix then this can be a good source. Expensive though at $10/gal.

I'm stopping at 75% as I was told by Jon over at burger motorsports. But my boost is at 26 psi and no codes and god Damn I love the extra pedal feel and torque from this little thing.

Polizzi, do you have any other mods other than the JB+ to support going to 75%

Looking to sell my jb+ to get the money together to get my manic tune, I know this isn't a for sale thread, but just putting it out there, asking 250, only been used for a couple thousand miles! Perfect condition! PM me!

well I started with coilovers, j brace, rear sway bar, catch can, turbo exhaust manifold, intercoller, cat back exhaust, air induction, turbo shield, wheels, tires, although you can with a stock mini , I'm told, crank it up to 75%. Now I'm not sure your gonna gets boost levels with out a bigger exhaust manifold, but if you go to shell and fill up with 100 octane you can crank it to 100%. I'm at half a tank and I'm gonna try it next fill up.

Nothing else is planned for the N18, at least not until we can get the current N18 JB+ through CARB certification which is pending now. We're also working on B48 development. The B48 lends itself a little more to higher power levels with the extra displacement and turbo capacity so a JB4 might be more realistic for that platform.

I'm still having problems with my JB --- sometimes I feel like the car is a rocketship, but then a few minutes later it will fall flat on its face. This was really annoying at the tail of the dragon.....I'd have plenty of power one moment, but then 5 minutes later, and hours after that, nothing. I turned it down to 40%, but felt absolutely nothing. Turned it back up to 50% and it's still off/on. Stock car, 93 octane.

Getting really frustrated.

Are you able to monitor boost?

Yep. It's been awhile, but I think I was around 16 with it "working". Otherwise it was around 12ish. I haven't data logged in awhile so I might be off.

In other news, I turned it up to 55% and it seems to be running more consistent, as long is the car is fully warmed up.

Have you pulled and inspected the recirc valve?

I've recently felt the same way, like you said a rocket sometimes and just standard others...anyone else? Is it possible the jb has a short? I've monitored boost using the torque app and I've noticed between 11.7-16.3psi with the jb at about 8 o'clock...I've been thinking about getting an ultra gauge to see if get more accurate readings, I don't really trust a phone app all that much.

I had no problems with the JB+ adapting and causing low HP. The dial in side the JB+ is more to use as fine tuning, to your unique car. Some people say they have more power at 40% then 75%, through trial and error you need to find the % that works best for your car .

I've found that with the dial at 55% it's much more consistent.

I wish I knew this months ago when I bought the thing....

I must ask a favor, how did you setup your boost gauge and get accurate psi readings? I'm getting too high boost readings of 25psi, a bit hard to believe on an 07 MCS.

Appreciate any assistance!
