At least you get an artisticly welded japanese quality exhaust instead of some
homemade looking Milltek like mine. Invidia has been one of the favorites
in the wrx community, but did not perform as well as the Blitz that I use.
the difference between Japanese exhausts is its fitment, quality of
finish, and beautiful craftsmanship. but the problem is not all perform as
well as they look or sound. I would proceed with caution.
I would not trade my milltek even if it looks like i welded it in my garage.

One of the criticisms of the Scorpion exhaust is that all the smooth curves cause more restriction than 90 degree bends. This exhaust seems to favor curves instead of bends as well. I'm surprised that wasn't mentioned.

I was thinking the same thing after I posted above about the diameter. Indeed, the bend after the muffler is quite substantial, far greater than 90 degrees. And if indeed it is 2.25" plumbing, I would guess that it is a fairly restrictive system. Given that, it might produce some good torque numbers for a stocker, but mostly likely be to limited on flow for a mod'd MCS... I bet it weighs around 20 - 25 lbs though.

>>It looks like one of the less restrictive designs I have seen...the price is kinda steep though I must agree...
Gets me wondering about back pressure and my quicksilver exhaust. Does the fact that it is a one sided muffler system and therefore has less bends than stock or other dual systems equate to lower backpressure? I've always thought it should but is that necessarily true? I ponder because Ace mentions this is less restrictive yet it at least seems to have the same dual-muffler design almost all other systems have used. Thanks.

i think it looks great and probably very promising regarding the numbers. i believe that their exhausts tend to make very good power on other cars like 350Z, S2000, WRX, etc. But let's remember the MCS is not like other cars, and i will personally wait to see the results of some tests, because at this price range we have the UUC, and the Milltek, both proven performers. i'm getting more confused the more i wait, now it's between this, the UUC, and Milltek.

Without knowing the diameter, it is hard to guess on the restriction aspect. Also, the number of bends, and the degree of bends also adds back-pressure, or restrictions. If this is a 2.25 I really doubt that it will be big power producer...
The QS was my previous exhaust. It produced numbers just shy of the Magnaflow while being over 10 pounds lighter, and with less volume. However, with increased output engines, as Randy shared somwhere, the QS starts to become too restrictive. It is a 2.25" system. It just seems that for those wanting over 200hp, 2.25 might not be the ideal choice for a catback...
