Is your cold start disabled or still enabled? I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it.

I don't really think it's an issue or anything, mostly just something I noticed. But I also tend to notice every little sound, creek, or crack

How would you know and is cold start configurable? I didn't think it was since it is sensor based.

It's an option with the MANIC tune. Mine is disabled, exhaust is too loud at 5am leaving for work.

Not sure... didn't know that was an option.

It's not an option but something Nick has been playing with on the later tunes. The early catless tunes do not have it disabled and some of the later ones do. Every tune is different and he is constantly refining the tunes. Good example is the cooling system temps modifications, cold start modifications and raised 6800 rpm rev limits. Each of these things could be in your file but Nick would know for sure and your Dealer might know if Nick tells them.

Contact Minivinie92, he is getting the group together. I would need at least 10 people and the bigger the group the more I can help on price. The flight and hotel has to be covered and I want to take my GF to see Jersey Shore.
I will spend the money and time, if there is a concert group, that want fast Mini's

I have a question about the stage II tune. I have the necessary mods for the tune but I'm concerned about the boost. I'm not doing the sps switch until I need a sticker so I need to decide which map I want installed until then and I'm trying to figure out if I can safely run map c permanently or should I be installing map b to use for daily driving? Thanks for any advice.

Hey Fiveostang,
I just replied to your PM.
The SPS is an option and, but I have only had one person not opt for one.
I'm sorry, I don't understand the "sticker". You can run map C daily if you have the proper hardware and really high quality fuel, such an 30% 100 octane mix or Meth, would be ideal. If you are not going to have an SPS, I would suggest Map B, this is the Map I use 99% of the time.
Thanks
Mario

I have the stumble upon cold startup as well. I was never bothered by the cold start function and I am not sure why it is disabled.

I was hoping to have this option also, but this should not be a reason to pull the trigger for a Manic Tune. So much power and fun, regardless of launch control👍

I will check about the LC, but it's doesn't seem like there isn't a demand for it, because it's a canyon, track car, not a 1/4 mile or stop to stop light car. FWD can match a RWD or AWD on a launch

the main reason I thought it may be possible via Manic is this YT video -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enp8JFXI-nc

Well that is for the R53 crowd. Doesn't apply to use with R56s. Although the idea is appealing, especially for us auto users. However it would raise a question of whether the tranny could handle a launch like that.

The LC is cool, but there is no traction. Lots of tire roasting

bytetronik is more of 2-step than actual launch control by today's standards. With real launch control on the GTR and pretty much every supercar.

The 2 step is fun and actually on some of the MINI's have it (GP2). I know the AP tuned cars had an option for the rev limit for launch.

Auto cars can't play without reworking the valve body or torque converters. They would need trans brake or high stall speed converter to get the revs up that high.

That being said the autos do very well at our annual drag race day. They are typically the fastest cars until the stick guys figure out their launches at the end of the night then 1 or 2 will beat the autos.

That was an R53. Not a very stock one at that. I've driven a few 8000 rpm cars they have done. It's a little scary going that far into the red of a stock tach. N powered MINI's are typically limited to 6800.

How/where does one rework a valve body/torque converter? I am super interested in upgrading my trans... thanks!

Has anyone had an issue with the car kind of hesitating under throttle? In on map b currently, stage 2, but it does it on every map but stock. Wasn't doing it before, but 1st or 2nd gear once it gets past 2500 rpm it seems to just take off, the throttle is choppy?

The throttle Map has been set to Linear, should be smooth. What I do feel is the awesome power surge from the boost spiking to 22psi once you are at 88% of the TPS😁

For me hesitation sounds like boost cut, timing pulled or misfire. Check for leaks.
