They are so new there was no Tq specs or packing. The Stars were aligned for me, luckily ARP is 1.6 miles from me. I think they are $115 retail, but I'm a reseller for them.

The next day I got the call from ARP and they tested it in their R&D lab, and came up with 19ft/lb

ARP supplies and recommends their own lube.

nice work, cant wait to see how this strengthens the bottom end...youve got to be worried about the hyper pistons tho, i never understood why in these HP engines they dont use forged internals...

+1 on that for 100$ seems like a pretty straightforward upgrade and its worth the safety net I guess

I will always have that little bit of worry and even when I go full forged I will still worry. Forged = more boost.
I'm wine tasting this weekend on a private vineyard, way more fun than changing Rod bolts.
On Monday I need to adjust my Aquamist HFS-3 because I'm getting some Electronic Interference, and this is causing the Fast Acting valve to twitch and then tells the ECU to pull boost. Should be a simple fix of just moving it over 3".

Why didn't you get the Aquamist HFS-4?

The HFS-3 is light years over my past meth kits, so didn't see the need for the 4 and I had a "cheap moment". If I had to do it over again, I would have ordered the .8 .9 and 1.0mm nozzle instead of the standard .7 .8 and .9mm. The 1.0mm nozzle with 100% M1, will give me the proper amount of meth even when hitting 26psi/1.8bar. Also, I only run the 1.8bar when spraying meth and using VP MS109 in the tank. Lucky I have the Bosh rounded HPFP that allows me to 200bar, and a few times I logged FP and it read 3300psi. CRAZY!

Do the meth kits help keep the valves and piston tops carbon-free?...(I'm an old gearhead from the LA County Street Racers ala 1970!)... Built a few motors in my time. Have found our Minis to run too rich from the factory. Had the local Dealership install a JCW Tuning Kit On my 2010 Mayfair S and asked the tech to run mine out at 14.5:1 air/fuel ratio which he did (I monitor with Torque Pro) Mine runs way quicker, smoother too. Thinking about the valve/ carbon issue in the N14 motors. I'm at 31,000 original miles...

When is the car running 14.5:1? Hopefully not at wide open throttle or during any kind of aggressive driving. Didn't know that the tech had the ability to change fuel mapping. I thought the tuning kit was just a "canned" reflash.

I peaked at my valves after a total of 17,000 miles (7,000 with meth kit installed) and they weren't bad at all. That said I do have an N18. Really not sure if it really helps all that much, the meth is not spraying all the time.

No, 14.5:1 when cruising. (Stock was 12.5:1).
Tech said they (the mechanics) send in the information from the ecu on the car (and software flashes are constantly being updated)...so the "canned flash" is actually tuned to each application/car individually. He didn't like the way the car ran after first software install/ update. Resent updated ecu information and reflashed. Tweaked again himself until he was satisfied with it. I got lucky I had a tech that is very picky and very knowledgeable at the dealer I go to. He is the best tuner there. It isn't the closest one to my home. The extra drive is well worth it.

Definitely worth the upgrade. It's been documented that the factory 7mm bolts begin to stretch at 280-300 ft/lbs of torque at the wheels. What BMW was thinking when they decided to work with Peugeot is beyond me.

I have a couple friends that work at ARP and I'm going to have them give me specs of the stock bolt and maybe take them my stock toothpicks to stress test them.
Any guesses?
