:( 10*F - too cold to work on the car.
Go a little further north and it was -4* this morning, with it going lower than that over the next 3 days. Not sure the snow tires will handle the HP of some of these tunes...

Nice! Thanks! I have a garage too with heat - but it's filled with too much "junk" to fit my mini and close the door.

Depends on supporting mods, trans, and fuels. Typically Stage 2 is 220whp and stage 3 can be up to 275whp

Should I get one of those Forge (or clone) intercoolers, or should I save up for an Alta one?

Truthfully I'd stick to a name-brand simply for the reason that you actually have support behind the product. As for which name brand, I'd recommend either Forge or Wagner (what I run). Both have excellent fitment and construction and a long history of doing things right when it comes to intercoolers.

If you have time to wait, another option is the new version of Helix's intercooler that is being tested before production begins.

My wife says "certifiable"...

That goes along with my liking to snow ski...
Until gps phone apps came along I never would have guessed that it is really easy to break 50 mph on a pair of skis while recreational skiing...
Between that and tracking my MINI, my fate has been sealed as both nuts and certifiable...

BTW - the really certifiables around here go ice racing when it gets really cold... Right now it has warmed up to 6*. I bet the ponds are well frozen now...

There is an entire section on this methanol does not add power but by keep tempatures cooler you won't lose any power to heat as well as the added benefit of keeping things a little cleaner inside

Methanol injection can add power if the car is "tuned" for it. Due to methanol increasing the octane rating of the fuel the tune could call for more boost and timing advance without increasing knock (hopefully). Map C on the 2+ requires race gas or meth injection.

A lot of people use methanol but don't run tunes requiring it. It's a safety measure.

Just bought a Forge FMIC! Only a few days until it gets here from Southern California to South Florida.
Question to anyone who is knowledgeable about the Manic tune: Is it possible to code out CELs from a primary cat delete (I don't have my secondary cat) and bulb/light out warnings?

Stage 2+, like all Manic tunes, comes with 3 performance maps: A, B and C, with Map C being the most aggressive. I believe that only Map C requires race gas or meth injection your choice. You should be able to run Map A and B without it. But double check with your Manic dealer.

Meth injection is a wonderful thing. It is a great "insurance policy" for your engine even on the less aggressive tunes. I'd highly recommend it.

As most have posted thoughout this thread, either Meth or Race Gas. However you do get three Maps A-C.

I am running Map A with no Meth on 93 octane fuel. I can do that because of my Mods listed in my sig. Mainly the FMIC which keeps my IATs low.

I'm waiting for my new tank to run MAPs B & C. Technically B is not mapped for Meth, but I'm not comfortable with the increase temps when hitting 20ish PSI. Map C will allow for 22.5 PSI only with race gas or Meth. Failure to provide that level octane and decreased temps could result in a catastrophic end state.

My point of view, only go for Stage II plus if you are planning to run meth or have easy access and can afford race fuel. Not worth the risk.

Yes. Many people have no cats and the Manic tune. The Manic tune will disable the CEL. All systems should read "ready" that otherwise would read "not ready" when running a catless downpipe.

Inform your Manic Dealer of your Mods. If you have a Catless DP, Stage II should code out the CEL. I know mine is out, Stage II plus (All Maps).
