The gauge is a P3 and it matches the orange Mini interior perfectly. I love hitting high boost and seeing my IAT's below ambient temps.

At what boost level do you start injecting the meth?
Are you worried the E85 is harsh on HPFP and main delivery FP? I guess not a huge deal to change out. I was concerned myself but started running the E85 also.

Seems like some folks like to get nasty especially when one questions their position.
I think one needs to always look at the source(s)
Here, again an article from Sunoco. They might know a little more that the weekend hobbyist mostly found here.
Gas and fuel are interchangeable terms. See the title of the article please...and the quote contained within the article.
I would tend to trust this source.

A Top Fuel Dragster runs Nitromethane...faster burning higher octane fuel but I really don't think that we can use Fuel and Gas as an "interchangeable" term here in this case. In generalities I guess we can use "gas" and "fuel" as interchangable terms but you sir have quoted an article that clearly states "RACE GAS" ... NOT PUMP GAS.

I believe when the member was told that higher octane (91-93) gasoline burns slower, he immediately starting focusing on faster burning racing fuels which doesn't have anything to do with higher octane (91-93) pump gasoline which was what we were talking about originally. It was a bit off topic and misleading that may have lead to other member's being confused, it's good that a few member's set the record strait though.

it's important to understand for those who are running high boost tunes
As for E85; I noticed with just a 15% mix my fuel trims were way high as would be expected and since it burns way hotter I wonder about it's application in our engines either on the street or track. It takes just a few seconds to burn up a piston cylinder wall and/or exhaust valve. Modifying is a very slippery slope and one must recognize all the important deleterious consequences of not covering all the bases. If one is getting a serious tune, the fact is the motor needs a more serious fuel.
Manic is concerned about the fuel here in CA and has to limit certain parameters in the tune unless one can get the correct "fluid" in the tank.

Maybe I'm misreading this but ethanol burns at a lower temperature than gasoline. If you are leaning out the engine then it will be hotter but that will only happen if the trims are max'd out.

Does the higher octane fuel burn at a slower rate than lower octane fuel? IMO.. MAYBE, SOMETIMES, YES, and NO.. See above.. the rate of burn is dependant on many variables but to state that just because the octane is higher, then the burn is slower, is 100% incorrect.

Don't believe me?? Why should you? there are countless articles contradicting what I just said.. Well.. see an interview from the Sunoco Engineer below (I will highlight the best parts LOL)
Nobody said higher octane pump gas (91-93) burns slower because it has a higher octane rating, there are other factors at play. Way to many variables to be 100% about anything in that link, that link is all over the place! The author doesn't seem to be sure of anything and to boot quotes an article from 1998, 16 years ago and we're back to Sunoco again saying that their GT PLUS 104 octane unleaded race gas is only 15-20 percent traditional gasoline and about 85 percent additives! I'm sorry I mean 120 different chemicals. The talk of high octane gasoline started out about higher octane pump gasoline and has now spun off topic and spiraling out of control IMO.

I believe it might be time to create another thread on gasoline/fuels because this thread is about Manic Tuning and I don't think it's fair to flood it with gasoline versus racing fuels. That's just my opinion though.

The only thing I liked about 1998 were the gasoline prices!

ethanol can burn cooler and produce more power, in reality, we end up burning as much ethanol as possible to get max power. This results in higher cylinder temps than gas
I watched temps on 2 identical engine from the cylinder heads and the E85 burned some 160 degrees hotter. Understanding fuel is vital to having certain Manic tunes dot heir thing properly. Consumers need to know this. If they did, perhaps they would not be buying new engines as often. People need to look at the totality of what they are trying to accomplish. FMIC, DP's, ignition systems, and fuel. To say not knowing what one must put in their tank is careless and dangerous. B

Any idea is it same with Manic SPS...
and use revo SPS to switch Manic Between Map A and Map B.

Physically the same but that dongle is used and programmed for multiple car manufacturers.

Before I ran meth, I ran 3 gal of e85 and topped it off with 93. 3 gal is the max you should run.

Question, is it normal to have a rich exhaust smell when running manic? I thought it was my catless setup. Added catted dp and still very gassy smell. Doesn't matter if idle or not. I'm having to run stock map because of it. Any ideas?

I have a high flow cat with no exhaust smell. I rode in a catless setup last week and it was barely noticeable.

You may have an exhaust leak. Check/replace the v-band clamp.

A leak would be on all maps.

From my logs, the Manic maps are richer at WOT compared to the stock map. During partial throttle driving, my AFR gauges bounces around 14.7, which is what you'd expect.

Do you have a way to monitor AFR?

True, my AFR at 6500 is 11.3 on 24psi, stock at 16psi was 12.5 and 12.9 with a JB+ I haven't spent time adjusting my AFR and timing for my new big valve head/full port. Even at 10 AFR I don't have smell issues and I'm complete catless. I need to get my car adjusted, my AFR and timing are in the super safe zone, I have to force my self to stop driving my M4 mQubed Motorsport, Manic Tuning Dealer
