Actually the BEST response....
Rather than waiting a few days for an answer (that may or may not be right...possibly from a FANBOY of one product) you can spend 15 minutes and do some research....

Or it's just as easy for people to IGNORE these types of threads that seem to warrant the whole "just do a search" reply.
There'd be no reason to keep a forum open if a subject was only talked about one time. Then why even have the forum open???? Just have one huge FAQ page and be done with it.

If you DO happen to use said search function, you will find an abundance of threads with detailed opinions on them. The answer isn't to keep starting new threads on the same subject.

Well...it is about give and take....
When doing the new stuff....you are breaking new ground...but once an general opinion has formed.... Why ASK...
Crowd sourcing is an free easy way yo get info...but ask the mundane too often...and folks tire...and you will hear nothing but folks asking....
Call it karma if you will....but with forums it is about give and take...
If there are too many "drive by" takers...then they die rapidly from folks who give up cause it gets mind numbingly boring....kind of like sewing...hense the nickname "the sewing site"....

If you add your question or knowledge to an existing thread on said subject...
You keep the info in that thread from getting forgotten....that is THE main reason...

Now that has me thinking twice about going this route.

Thank you for the helpful info. I contacted Jeff and he gave me very good advice. I was ready to pull the trigger but my tuner guy told me to be careful with adding this to my car. He thinks this will give BMW an instant excuse to void my car's warranty.

I ended up installing it because I believe that over the long run the kit will only help with the health of the engine and I only have 3.5 years left on the warranty anyway . I do plan a getting a real tune once the N18 is able to be flashed via the ODB2 port, but I do not plan on tuning for meth.
I lot of people will say that the HFS4 is over kill for the R56 but I chose that route because of the quality reviews (here and elsewhere) and the great technical support from Jeff at Howerton and Richard at Aquamist. It is pricey but the kit is basically as bolt on as you can get and to me that's worth the premium price.
There are quite of few people running the HFS3 and HFS4 on their MINI's and the knowledge base is out there.

I also agree that the AquaMist / Howerton Engineering kit is where it is at.
But here is a link for you: Water Meth Mini Kits

Of the original 36k miles warranty, I went in once. Warped hood scoop.
If you don't want to void your warranty and you're afraid of getting it voided, why bother modding in the first place? Of the few times I went in to get anything done or the 15k and 30k oil changes, I never got crap from any of my SA, don't over think it...

I have the AquaMist HFS-3 kit installed on my car and you could install one of these kits in such a way that it could be removed in a minimal amount of time if you wished to do so.
Even the bung for the injector comes in the kit with a plug.
I have not written an article for my webpage for the Water/Meth install, but I will have to do it soon but here is some photos:
AquaMist install in an R53
As you can see the system is very modular.

so would I have to tap some threads in order to install the meth nozzle? if so, what kind of work is involved there?
