Drivetrain Ceramic coating vs OEM heat shields

The tune question. Is the mantic tune a plug and play thing?
I had the K03 45mm turbo but ended up swapping it for the K04 e45r just a few days ago. I "had" the Manic stage 3 tune untill the dealer wiped it out yesterday (I got Satellite (sirius) programmed for free and they had to update the ECU...). Getting it re flashed next tuesday. The Maic tune is amazing all around. They are the way to go with a tune. Arric at JM Turbo coopers is the best to deal with for turbos.

I wasn't happy with the K03's performance above 18-19psi. Plus, JMTC offers an upgrade at a really good price I couldn't pass up. I will see how the K04 shakes out next week. I was happy with it up until a few days ago before the ECU got wiped...

a lot of the "ceramic coatings" you see offered by vendors do little if anything to contain the heat. You can buy the same coatings in a spray can. They are just ceramic based paints. They keep the parts looking nicer and provide some rust protection. Besides that they do little.
You have to get something like Swain-tech coatings if you want real heat reduction without using header/exhaust wrap. I plan to get my downpipe coated by them once my warranty expires in Feb.
