How long did the install take? Any issues the rest of us should look out for?

 

Installation is pretty much the same for all FMIC and is extremely straight forward. It will take longer if you have never removed the front bumper before, some of the fasteners are kind of hard to see if you don't know where they are. Helix does have a good tutorial on their website.

On the newer models you'll have to temporarily remove the front crash bar for installation. Sometimes it is difficult to put back on, the car frame seems to torque and bolts might not line up so easily. The solution I found for this was to lower the car back onto it's wheels thus relieving some of the torque stresses.

 

Have you guys installed new silcone hose's to the FMIC?
Wonder if you could provide links for proper fitment.

I have the NM discharge pipe which came with excellent instructions.

Install wasn't done by me (a rare thing for me to say), but I was allowed to watch.

Overall, the install is very straightforward, no surprises, and it uses all of the factory attachment points. Just take your time and be patient with the various bolts, screws, clips, and brackets.

Would compliment the new Helix intercooler nicely. Planning to jump on this.

Installing mine tonight! Finally! :D

 

Install went smooth. Didn't even have to remove the crash bar. Temps are amazing compared to stock. Even dropped below ambient on the way home. Very pleased.

 

What's the latest feedback on the Helix IC? Are there more installs, pros, and cons?

I've been doing quite a few mods on my 13 JCW including NM Engineering stage 1 flash (see JCW Garage forum) and planning last major mod of IC upgrade. I was evaluating the Wagner race IC and saw this.

I plan to do the NME stage 2 flash after the IC decision.
