OEM LSD Identification

This is supposed to be an LSD. Can anyone tell me yes or no? Came out of an 05 R53 that says it has an LSD via VIN and the gearbox number ends in TBKL which should have the LSD but my mechanic says it isn't because the spider wheels turn by hand.

jack the front end up, put in neutral, spin one wheel.

one of three things will happen:
1.) the other wheel will rotate in opposite direction = open diff
2.) the other wheel will stay stationary = LSD
3.) the other wheel will rotate in same direction = really good LSD or locked diff

That diff isn't in a car. My car has an open diff which seems to be making a strange noise. I bought that one as a factory LSD but the mechanic says it isn't.

Any other ways to tell?

Take a pic from the other side and I can tell you, but it looks like a stock open diff from there.

Finally got another pic. This is my open diff on the left and the new supposedly LSD on the right.

I also have a video of the spiders turning.

The guy I bought it off says he has confirmed it is a factory LSD. Which makes it odd that the spiders turn. Can anyone shed some light on the situation? Is there a rebuild kit / spare parts I can use to get this back to spec or adjust the lockup?
