Oil Pan Bung Weld Questions

First off, yes I'm going to get a bung welded on my r53's oil pan.

I've read enough comments to the contrary but I'm going to go through with it anyway.

My reasons are:

-I have a Fumoto quick drain plug I'd like to use in the original drain plug location.

-I currently have an oil temp sensor w/ adapter in the original drain plug location.

-I would like to keep my oil temp sensor in the oil pan AND keep the adapter that I bought.

-I have a friend who is an ex-MINI tech and can TIG/MIG weld.

Now on to the question. I would like to have a bung welded on the side of the oil pan that is the same size as the original oil drain plug since I would still like to use the oil temp sensor with the adapter on it. What size bung would I be looking for if I was looking for one the same size as the original oil drain?

I know the thread is 14mm x 1.5 but I'm having a hard time finding a female weld bung that size. Most sites sell them at 1/2", 3/8", etc sizes.

Can you buy an aluminium but in m14 and weld that on? Or do you know someone with a metric tap set and just weld in a solid piece of round bar?

If you find the solution please let me know. I'm very interested in this. Waiting for the revise Innovate Dual gauge pressure/temp oil gauge.

TIG Welding cast aluminum oil pans is a *****. I avoid it at all costs. When I was a tech at Honda, we brazed all the bungs on to replace stripped drain plugs from pretty much every 90's Honda.
