R56 JCW Tune Question (Cat + Pops)

I have a JCW R56. When the engine heats up and I’m in sport mode, I get gurgles and pops and I love it, but how is this not ruining my catalytic converter?

I ask this because I’m thinking about getting an RPM tune. I have a hi-flow cat to install, along with an Intercooler and colder spark plugs. I’m looking to get the gurgles and pops a little louder with the tube, but I don’t want anything insane, just a little louder than stock. I know that pops are bad for cats, so how come the stock car came with pops and bangs? Would I be okay if I went with like level 1-2 or something?

You will be fine if you want to increase the pops. I do this all the tome for customers. The flames with cats is a different story.

what is your main concern with your cat being intact because of the pops if you modding?
most already accept the fact that if they want more power they sacrifice giving up the cat (restriction).
if its emissions your worried about then keep your stock downpipe handy as its cat is readable and need to be in tact.
so if you don't want it damaged due to the pops then swap it out with a straight catless dp and end up with even more pops!
