Hello all- First post on the forum...I recently purchased a 2012 Cooper S in spice orange- Love the car. My post is about whether a 2007 R56 exhaust would fit on a 2012 R56. I know a little about the mini platforms and enough to know that the 2007 and 2012 are the same “generation” but at 2011 or around there there was a few minor changes on the platform. Cutting to the chase, I bought a full exhaust from the downpipe back, pulled off of a 2007 r56. I bought it solely for the purpose of being able to cut parts of the system out for more volume until im happy with it, without messing with the stock 2012 exhaust in case i screw up the 2007. Anyway, everything fits fine, and I cut out the secondary cat. This increased volume a tad, but took away volume from the pops and crackles. My thought is that the 2007 exhaust muffler is internally different from the 2012 exhaust. Can anyone confirm if this is correct? Thanks! They appear to be identical on the outside
