Hey guys -
In regards to the cat-less DP and/or removal of secondary cat, with some places doing only the OBD scan for emissions it shouldn’t be a problem.
However due to the pandemic, I have heard some places not wanting to go inside a customer’s car to plug in the OBD scanner and instead revert to the old tail pipe sniffer test to check emissions. So having a Check Engine light is fine, as long as it passes tail pipe sniff test since they arent doing OBD scan due to COVID.

Any experience for those with cat-less DP or no sec cat ? Would it still pass the stiff test?

I can only speak to New York state emissions testing... The OBD reader is tied directly into the State's computers. The only way you can pass is if the OBD computer gets an OK from the state computers. So, they HAVE to plug it into the car for you to pass.

Yeah nys having a computer system is why I even bothered looking into this in the first place. If we just had a visual inspection or something I’d have asked around for a shop that’s enthusiast friendly. I still have o2 sensor ptsd from my Audi days and driving around juuuuuust enough to get a ready

Removed the resonator and 2nd cat today. I had the stock mufflers cut out as well and replaced with these magnaflow units

Amazon Amazon

there isn't any drone to my ears with the windows up. The exhaust is MUCH throatier and very pleasing to the ear. The pops and bangs are more like explosions now in sport and in normal it's just a nice sound.
