No, I am from So Cal. I am in the same boat as you are. I would like to know more about it before diving in.

Yes it did seem to smooth out the idle somewhat & i now have confidence my engine mount won't fail. It is very similar in design to how the early (02-03) Mini engine mounts were designed.Highly recommended.

I'm looking at buying the 2.5" exhaust system for an 06 Cooper S convertible. Are there any fitment issues with the extra bracing on the convertible? I did a search and the only thing I found was an old post from '04 mentioning an issue with an exhaust flange and the rear crossbrace?

Thanks,
Mark

Hey Alta guys, quick question.

I remember at some point you guys were considering a thermal insulation add-on to your CAI box. I believe it was around the time the box top was coming out. Did that ever materialize? I would surely be interested...

makr_ghmi: The cross brace is the only concern. The other changes were to the hangers, but we addressed that as well. Good luck! Those are fun cars and the vert makes the burbles that much better.

Mini Mac PR: Thanks for asking. I haven't seen anything else yet, but I did see some of them in the building a few months ago. No clue, but I will find out more and let you know! Thanks again!

Happy 4th everyone!

Hmmm, had to look a long way back to find this thread... I've been gone too long.

Sorry, I've gotta ask, since I live in an officially smog-challenged area of Southern California and I'm anticipating a smog check this year, is there any new news on the Alta CAI California ARB smog-certification?

Best,

-- Don

Do you sell the spray nozzle for your diverter separate or know where I can get one?

I bought a used one that didn't have the spray nozzle with it with it.

According to earlier posts that was supposed to be completed by SEMA which was last Nov. I think back in january we were joking that maby they meant this upcoming SEMA show. It's not so funny now .

VBG: No new news!

Trackster: Not hiding or evading. Just an issue with us vs. CARB. As soon as it is solved we will let everyone know. It is still unfortunate! But this is VERY important to us. WE are not a bait-n-switch, fill you with BS kind of company. We are always honest about what is going on. Sorry this is taking so long!

Hey Alta, I thought I read somewhere that you are making design changes in your catbacks for the pre 07 cars. If true when can I expect them on the market?

pulleys

I have a 15% pulley. I want to add the 2% overdrive crank pulley, which you also recommend the alternator pulley. Your belt chart shows a stock belt for the 15% and the 2% crank pulley, but it doesn't show anything for the addition of the alternator pulley.

Lastly, is there a NAM discount and how do I use it?

Cactusflier: They are in production right now. The next batches that ship will have the new tips, mounting etc. Sorry for the delay!

PeterM: The ALTA-Nator pulley while different in overall size, is not dramatic enough to warrant a change in belt size.

Hope that helps!

Thanks again NAM!

Hey Alta,

I am just wondering, who do you recommend for installing your products in the South Orange County area, California.

Thanks!

How do you distinguish the old from the new (in the case of buying one from a vendor)? Does it have different version number or name? Any photos or write ups of the new exhaust? I believe I read it is lighter too. Any other changes other than that and what you mentioned above?

Alta, I have always appreciated your candor on the CARB issue. I'll continue checking back with you every month or two, just in case. Whatever ultimately happens, thank you for trying.

Dear ALTA MAN.

We would appreciate it is you could look over questions we have ( long posts) on the 1st Generation/Suspension/"Part way through sorting...camber plates, Alta PSRS...." thread started by Dr Obnoxs.

We are getting noises that we cannot trace down.

Thanks

My resonator has been destroyed sometime after I put on the ALTA Sportone exhaust-not blaming it just stating time frame. What are your recommendations for a replacement resonator? Will any do? The rattle is driving me nuts. Dealer told me a MINI replacement is $1006. I have not been to the dealer for any repairs in over a year. (local guy does my repairs/mods)
