Good question:

For the track car, I would recommend closer to 1.75 or 2 deg negative camber to help with cornering. You may want to fiddle a bit with these numbers to maximize YOUR fun/performance.

For the street car .75 deg neg.

Thanks for the business and for asking!

Thanks. I also did the upper control arms on the track car. How would you set the caster, assuming I do 1.75 neg for the camber?

I haven't personally fiddled with the caster/toe in the rear. Maybe ALTA2 (Jeff here in Tech) can provide more light:

Jeff you here yet?

CAI silicone hose FITMENT

hello Alta,
Very Simple mod, but very mechanically challenged guy here need help

1) does some hose require trimming the bottom? (toward throttle body)
I already have ruined 1 Blue hose which I over trimmed, so i try with Red one this time to no avil I just gave up.

2) compare to throttle body opening, Silicone Hose has bigger opening (too lose) is this normal?
no matter how much i try to tighten it my silicone hose just slides right out, if I pull it with very little force.

3) and the tiny middle hose (fresh air... ??) does not line up with my factory hose. my factory line is running side ways and Silicone hose has its middle tiny hose facing up, toward the winshield. (I align my tube per your "Alta" logo to be on top not turn side ways)

I have seen most "Alta CAI how to's" here but I guess i am the only one having trouble installing my Hose. my 2nd attempt failed this weekend.

I have 05 MCS Manual, thank you.

PS: and How do I install that factory Air inlet plstic tube back on? (tube that feeds fresh air from front) Is it silicone hose install, before or after?? I got so frustrated I almost threw it all away~ arggggg :impatient whats a best way?

HABUTGO: Sorry you are frustrated and having problems. As you have already seen by other members this is NOT a common problem. The inlet hose will be slightly larger than the stock one at the T/B. (We did this base don requests from clients with larger T/B kits. The extra is not a gross amount and the clamp provided (when tightened properly) will make the hose TIGHT! So simply recheck that.

On the fresh air tube coming from the radiator support. After tightening the inlet hose to the T/B and before it is tightened to the air box, pull the inlet tube forward (kinking it temporarily) and then slide the aformentioned hose into place. Much better than throwing it across the room!-)

Don't align the tube based on logo placement. The logos can be in different spots from part to part. (not an excuse just an explanation.) Best to make the PCV connection before installation of the fresh air tube.

As always let me know how I can help in anyway further! Thanks again for choosing ALTA!

Good question! Depends on where it is mounted. If you can access the site tube, simply drain the can into another container and place the waste with other waste oil.

If you can't do that, I recommend removing the top plate, and siphon out the waste oily stuff with an old turkey baster.

Also, the foam (if used) can generally be reused. Simply wash it with a degreaser and replace it in the can.

Hope that helps! Thanks for asking!

Any thoughts on the toe setting now that I have 4 adjustable control arms on the rear tires? I am planning to set camber to -1.75' on all the tires for my first track day tomorrow. How much positive caster would you suggest? Would you keep the toe at the factory recommendation? Thanks.

My honest answer is I don't know. The caster (I believe) is far more crucial up front on the drive/turn tires hence the reason for our PSRS system. I can try to grab Jeff before he heads back to the dyno this morning to see if he has any answers for you.

Thanks for asking!

Well Charles are complete apologies for any inconvenience. BUT I will need more information. I will be in the office tomorrow. Direct any previous or new correspondence to me at adam@altaminiperformance.com Title the e-mail MISSING OCC HOSE and BE SURE to put your daytime telephone number, order number or ANYTHING else that could be helpful top finding the lost hose.

I just hate it when my hose goes missing!

Thanks again for your patience!

Yes and No. It is available only for clients with TWURBO sytems. I do still have a few kits available.

But we have a NEW Ecu product the ALTA PnP ECU for the R53 that will be released in the coming days. For a sneak peek at what we did for the R56 owners click here!

Thanks again for asking!
