backfire/ miss during ecceleration

I recently had my exhaust fixed, but now I'm getting a miss fire during ecceleration. Could a faulty o2 wire and harness cause this, or is this something more internal. I'm still getting a p-0003 code. I replaced the post cat o2 sensor and spliced into the old harness, could this still be the problem. Any help would be grateful.

the book calls b62001 your pre - cat and b62002 your post - cat . sensor 1 and sensor 2? it's possible you want to do the pre - cat . i'm thinkin' the post cat looks at what the cat did to clean up ;and the pre -cat looks more at what's happening with fuel mix type stuff. but in this case it's just sayin' its' heaters not workin right . but it could be it's a code it throws for lack of a better code you know? almost like it has a limited vocab so it spits out the closest thing it can find .see the heater thing to me would explain a cold start issue . but warmed up and running .,well what do you need an o2 heater at that point for? i'm hoping someone can jump in here so you don't drop more money on another o2 for not. but if you got the dough ;i'd go ahead and replace the pre -cat. sorry i'm not more help ;luck.

another thought. again is it one or all the cylinders misfiring? naw forget it you'd get a different code. see at a given point that o2 could cause fuel to be shut off to cylinders i think so maybe if the ecu sees an open loop to the o2 on occasion it freaks and cuts fuel to a given cyl. now i'm babbling so better go before i blow your car up

I had to replace my post-cat o2 sensor due to the fact that the threads on the old o2 were trashed, and was unable to re-install. It is possible that the pre-cat sensor is faulty, so I might just replace the o2 and splice into the harness.

i would . i've got high miles so an o2 wouldn't phase me at this point. if it were something more severe you'd think you'd get other codes.
