This really goes back to the issue of comparing different cars on different dynos under different conditions. You can't do it with any real meaning. What did the luckydog car dyno before the test? I'm sure you know that stock cars vary by several hp under exact condtions as well, so there's that to consider as well.

Ok, what if my project is an experiment, to make my MCS with the performance of the GP. The other words, I'm making a GP with 4 seats, sunroof and other luxury stuffs with JCW parts and still covered by factory warranty.

What if the reason that I add thing one by one is because I want to see what kind of improvement after each part installed.

What if I don't care about dollars/hp when mod.

What if some of the parts are not installed by any dealers, and I still get the factory warranty. (I'm a magician, may be )

This is all about me. What I did and going to do, doesn't hurt anyone. I'm having fun with this progress. It's all about enjoyment. I'm playing with my toy, that's all.

here goes my ½ cents. The great thing about our car is that we can express our individuality with our mods. I am sure that if we site down someone can find some to question with our mods. It is cool to see all the different ways the mini can be modified. Finally I want to go on the record to say that Maxicooper is bananas. Just joking

I am also thinking about an header for my car. I was thinking about the 4to2t1 from minimania however they just rased the price. I will have to put that on hold.
My suggestion is to get the header heat coated before it is installed. Remember it is next to the intake. I am try out http://www.swaintech.com/ with the header for my saturn. I will let you know how it turns out.

Good product...

I'm doing a research on Milltek. I heard an issue about their cat mulfunction after short period of time, some said their have already fixed that issue. We'll see.

I'm also interested in the header from John Cooper Motorsports as well. But only if I have some extra fund coming in.

Updated:

The process was done , but we might not be able to do dyno pulls today. If not, we will do on 21st though.

I'm heading back to md after finishing the shift light installed. Butt dyno report right after this.

If you didn't do a dyno pull right before and after, then the measurements lose validity! Dyno pulls done on different days will not be quite the same comparison.

You're right.
And since we couldn't do it today, I will do the runs for different kind of experiment instead. May be do some before and after dyno runs to compare GP software and GIAC.

As for today cruise back to Md. after GP IC installed, I was able to feel significantly improvement through out the power band, especially at lower end.

There was an accident on the highway that cause some traffic jam on the way back, I got stuck in the jam for a while and it seems like there was less power loss because of the engine heat than before.

Surprisingly, slightly better gas mileage as well (highway cruise).

Special thanks to Eric and Helix's crew for their awesome services and hospitality.

Heh - that would be great... can Eric "download" the flash image from an existing GP?

I love the looks of the GP IC... most especially since it's a black cover (I hate the JCW silver one - it stains too easily from the foam lining on the bonnet). Yes I've seen it before, but seeing it again makes me want it more.

Which source did you get it from again? The Austrian one on eBay?

"Flash image"???

I don't think Eric can get the GP software.
I just hope my SA would be kind enough to do it for me.

I know someone who has the flash off a GP. But it really pales in comparison to the ones they normally sell. I think it's pretty obvious who I'm talking about too.

Point taken... but it would be interesting to know how many differences (if any) there are between the GP flash and the standard JCW flash... even if it's only academic.

On that topic, not only academically, but for posterity sake, I'd like to see all of them...

GP, JCW, MCS, MC, and also any "third-party" vendors.

Quick Reply: Drivetrain Just a little fun before getting JCW kit. Err... my way
