I have the JCW software. It work perfectly fine, especially after new intercooler installed.
I will try to get the GP software (if available) and compare with the "third-party" next week.

After a full day of test driving around town and on the highway for >150 miles, surprisingly, I feel much better response from the engine more than I would expected.

I don't know if it just because the new IC that might have worked well with the system or not, but I'm sure something right must have happened from this process, and I really love it.

I also disconnected the battery after installed the IC, that might have reset the learning mode of the ecu and has adapted with the new IC and engine confict.

Can't wait to see how my Mini will perform on track and strip.

Header (exhaust manifold) will come after JCW brake kit, I believe. I still don't know which one among MM V2, Milltek or John Cooper Motorworks.

Cylinder head and camshaft, still debating. I need more time to study to see which would be the best for my application, JCW, Thumper, Fireballed, etc. Camshaft will definitely be Schriek, if not at all, of which possibly will all be in the last phase (Spring 08) along with the project "R56 trailing arms swap", (if it is do-able at all).

Modification and accessories as of 4/14/07:

JCW intake, JCW Exhaust, GP intercooler, JCW flash, JCW belt, IK22 Plug, JCW suspension, JCW strut tower bar, 22mm MM rear sway bar, Helix 15% Pulley, Helix plugs wires, Work VS-xx 18"x7.5", Toyo T1-S 225-35/18", Whalen shift ****, JCW shift indicator, Tom Tom one GPS and some stickers.

During today run, I came up with a tempting idea......

To GIAC or to go for GP flash.......
To go for a header or to go for a cylinder head......
To go for a JCW brake kit or to go for JCW aero kit......

Hmm..... a lot of things to think about.

maxi NO jcw aero kit now. Go for the header. I think it will give you the most bang for the buck. The head should be next. Then new software GP or GIAC. last should be aero kit

Maxicooper, what if:

1. Get the Header
2. Get the JCW or other higher-flowing cylinder head
3. Visit LDG and let John do his ECU magic

Hmmm.....

Thanks for the idea...
Here is what I'm thinking

I will start with the JCW brake kit...and go with the GP software, for experiment and to have fun with it.

Phase two ('08), the cylinder head, header (and Schrick camshaft, may be.. ), all at the same time.

And last, will be the fine tuning process to make everything works in harmony.

Where are you getting the brakes from? Morristown MINI has a good price on them.

Just got mine from them as well. They also did the install. Great bunch of guys.

BTW, I have followed this thread with great interest as I have been thinking about heading down a similar path.

At this point I'm thinking either 15% plus GIAC, or 15%, JCW injectors, plugs and flash.

Tough call.

Honestly, I'd get the Detriot Tuned BBK over the JCW BBK. DT gives you all 4 wheels, where the JCW only is the fronts. And for pretty much the same price.

Jeremy, I did not see on DT site where for a 1000 dollars you get all four wheels. Can you direct me to this?

Helix's just inform me that TCE is also carrying some good BBK for Mini.

Great news, we now have a lot of choices to choose from.

Have read a lot throughout the site regarding to the Jesus cylinder head, anyone in our area has it on his/her MCS?

Curiosity...... if the head will react well with Schrick cam. Which header will be best for the head and the camshaft combination, 4-2-1 or 4-1 config?

I heard Helix has the head on Eric's car, how does it perform.

Hmm... very interesting. The head and header, the camshaft with addition of some proper fine tuning, could this be an ultimate driving machine?

Need some input, please.....

LOL Chris... you're funny... you get every last part of the JCW kit except the cylinder head... creating a thread that even says "getting the JCW kit" in the title...

...and now you're off to buy something else.

You're a strange one, man! But I have to admit you're entertaining.

Call Eric?, I will do that tomorrow.

But it would be great if there is anyone around here that has one. I would like to have their feedback and input.

At the end, I might have to ask you to change the title.

I have to admit: the more I play with my Mini, the more fun and addictive it is.

BTW: with the GP intercooler installed: better throttle response, improve mid-range, better gas mileage (~2mpg from before). Have you decided yet?

You mean "addictive". Sorry, it's one of my pet peeves. Addictive is an adjective, addicting is a transitive verb. Completely different uses.

Oh, I know I want it. Most definitely... and I do plan on getting it... but I need to worry about getting my car back from the existing crazy mod project first!

I think the IC is one of my best upgrade.

I would love you to try my Mini next time we met. Next Mini & Coffee, maybe.
