Just a little fun before getting JCW kit. Err... my way

Can't wait so I took a day off, brought my MINI to the shop and have the 15% pulley put on, just for now. Since I've already got JCW exhaust and intake so the rest of the JCW kit will have to wait until the end of the year (ran out of mod budget).
With the new 15% pulley and Denso plugs installed, the car is much easier and more fun to drive around town due to more usable torque at the low end. I can feel more power start from as low as 2k . High way cruising on 6th gear is better as well.
GIAC might be the next project, soon.

And the bottom line: I love it.
Thanks Eric.
Looking forward to test on a track and strip.

Since November 1st.
JCW exhaust and intake, JCW suspension, JCW strut brace, JCW belt, Madness rear sway bar, Work 18" rims and tires, Helix pulley and Denso Iridium plugs, plus all the labor cost.
Definitely, I'm broke.

Anyone, want a "MINI and ME" photo session by me. I will give a special discount for DCMM member to raise funds to mod my MINI.

It's the same pulley belt that comes with the JCW kit, I picked up from the dealer. I changed the pulley so I changed the new belt at the same time.

I only worry that when you do the JCW kit that they will have issues with the pulley. Reason being is they take the old supercharger generally as a core towards the JCW supercharger. But i'm sure you have already figured this out

RE: Supercharger

That's an easy enough fix, don't put on the new supercharger. It really isn't much different to worry about. Send them back new one as the core.

I would think that will ultimately be the decision of the MINI tech that installs the JCW kit... but Mark's point is a valid concern that Maxicooper should inquire about with the dealership before proceeding with the installation.

Actually, I was really concern about this matter. But some of the dealers will part out the kit seperately (Supercharger, the head, the injectors and the software).

Then you should ask what the cost of the supercharger is now so you don't get shocked later.

Sounds like a plan, I just hope they take a aftermarket pullied supercharger without a problem compared to a oem pullied supercharger. You know for that blastproff MINI warranty Right Edge/Mr. OEM

Need some advise.
I will be in Sterling area tomorrow, so I plan to stop by at MoS to inquire about the JCW software.
It Looks like among the 3 dealers in our area, MoS seems to be the only dealer that is mod friendly.
Do I need the JCW Vin# in order to order the JCW software?
Who should I talk to at the dealer? Cost? (some source said $125 installed?)
Thank you.

Where did you get the pulley installed at and how much was the total price?

I've contact MoS and MoT today.
Surprisingly, both MoS and MoT willing to perform the service, even after they ask me whether or not I have the JCW kit installed.
I will post you the conclusion next Monday.

Have the JCW flash done at MoT this morning.

Totally different, very smooth all the way through out the power band.
A difference beast now. I love it a lot.

I will drive it like this for 2 weeks, then will install the JCW injectors. That should bring it close to the JCW kit.

Maxi, you are doing the most painfully slow and drawn-out JCW upgrade that I have ever seen. LOL!

Then what do you have left to do? The cylinder head?

If I put everything on at the same time, then it wasn't going to be excited anymore. And do thing like this, I have something to look forward to every week.

He did the JCW flash since the JCW pulley (14.8%) is so close to a 15% aftermarket pulley.

Yes, with the intake, exhaust, 15% pulley, plugs and (coming soon) injectors plus JCW flash; the result should be pretty close if not the same as it is from JCW kit. Only thing that is missing is the port-polished JCW head.

I don't know, I might dyno my MINI after I install the injectors. Just to see if my theory is correct or not.

So...would it have been cheaper to just buy a JCW'ed MINI from the factory? Not poking or proding...just curious
