now that you have pistons you can twin charge and or eventually go turbo only and make GOBS of power... now that you have pistons... twin charging is reliable

Yes a turbo would be nice, but I'm not sure I have the money for that kind of conversion. I will be going for a ride in Johnny's car after his tune to see if it is something I want.

I am eager to see results... reading the m62 is a reality thread is like reading a book with no ending! maybe i should just stick to the "choose your own adventure" books! Anyone remember those?

that is exactly what i am intersted.

the cost of the kit... and the dyno numbers.

Also i would like to know what is on the car that is being dynoed! Also, to know how much boost would be a plus too!

I keep hearing a lot of talk about the M62....

Why hasn't someone suggested converting to (what I am told is) the more efficient centrifigal-type supercharger?

Centrifugal (centrifical?) SCs are good for bigger engines - they work like a turbo in that they don't produce as much boost at the lower RPMs - they're much better up high. Since a little four banger doesn't have much torque down low, it's not a great match - the 'lag' of a turbo with the parasitic drag of a supercharger.

Just got off the phone with Peter of M7. Dyno time was this evening, and just culminated for the night (after 11pm PST).

Peter has a bit of a trek back home, and he should be able post some info later, but probably not tonight as it's gettting late...

Peter when you post your numbers can you let us know what mods the car had to accompany the M62. Is it running an OEM crank pulley?

Thanks

Seann

It means that posting "we want numbers" and "any news yet?" isn't going to make them post any faster. we've waited this long whats another few days or a week?

Usually nothing. Unless there is a history of datelines that are not met.... Nobody forced them to say that the numbers would be available yesterday... At least I didn't.

Nothing to post yet, as we ran out of fuel (needs bigger injectors).

mind if i ask what injectors you are running and how much power you were making when you ran out of fuel? This will probably be good info for many on NAM, because i think fuel injector size is one thing overlooked in the MINI community and i know many people respect your opinon and experiance

they said that they would have numbers available tomorrow... this was said on sunday which would make me believe that they were planning to release numbers monday. Im not blaming them for not posting numbers yet... STUFF happens... i have been there many times! Sometimes the dyno fails, sometimes people fail you, sometimes your child gets sick or loved one gets sick and you have more important thing to do than to go to the dyno...

Any of that happen here? And if you know stuff happens, as we all do, perhaps grand announcements should be made when they are ready.

Wow, camelpilot. You are a "glass is half-empty" type of person, aren't you?

Your post was a downer, but then I really got depressed after reading your signature's green text...

Cheer up! Life's too short to be so cynical.
