This is pretty cool. Some British company is making a plug and play electric drivetrain for the original Mini Coopers. So keep the cool body and interior and chuck the motor and drivetrain. 107hp. Single speed gearbox, so no shifter no clutch. . No noise, no radiator no fanbelts no oil leaks. Price: $12,000 USD.

It appears that for $12K you get a motor only; then you can "explore optional optional EV upgrades." Their brochure reads:
Swindon Powertrain launches Classic Mini Kit aimed to offer electrification for any classic Mini Customers can now order Swindon Powertrain’s electric Classic Mini Kit and explore optional EV upgrades, including 12 kWhr battery pack, motor controller, onboard charger and DC-DC converter
According to Hagerty: "EV extras are available for builders seeking to go the distance with Swind products (prices are converted from BPS): a 12-kWh battery pack (~$20,800), motor controller kit (~$5000) and charger/DC-DC converter kit (~$2500)." So you could buy a fabulous MINI Cooper SE pre-built for less.
I haven't been able to find how much one of these converted 12kWh Minis weighs. I suspect it's a lot more than the original Mini's 1,300 lbs.

An 85 kWh Tesla battery weighs 1,200 lbs, which is a little more than 14 lbs/kWh. That 110 lb, 12 kWh Swind battery must be pretty fancy to weigh only 9.16 lbs per kWh. Maybe it's worth $20K after all.
