If your headlight is like mine it would be D2S, I am preety shure that you wont have problem. The only difference would be the light output and the color.

The risk is that you won't be able to see anything at night, and 8000K color is probably not legal in most places.

Edit: Anyway, to answer your question an 05 MCS would use D2S.

well...i have experienced 6000k and now lexus OEM philips 5000k D2r bulbs on my 03, i am not sure if its related, but seems that with higher temps, the igniter on ocassions have troule flicking on... sometimes takes a few on-offs before it'd stay on, but once on it will stay on 95% of the time, i had it turn off while i was driving a short distance with a buncha minis

Picking up an old thread....

I have the same headlights on my 08 R52 Convertible.

I bought a set of D2C xenon bulb witch can be used to replace a D2R or D2S bulb.

After taking the OEM bulb out of the headlight is saw that the bulb is one piece with the starter. Am i doing something wrong because i can't get the bulb from the starter....

Some help with pictures would be great!!!!

Thanks,
Peter

Anyone?

There must be someone who upgraded his facelift xenon headlights to 6000K or replaced it with an OEM bulb and know how this works....
