Driving lights instead of fog lights

Ok, first of all my left fog light housing has broken, cone insident during an autox event.... anyways though, since I never actually use my fog lights I thought I might take this opportunity it install some driving lights using the fog light wiring. Figured it shouldn't be too hard to just reuse the harness and seeing as the fogs are 55watt each I figured the wiring should be sufficient for it. Any thoughts and ideas before i do this? Also I was wondering if there was a place to buy those plastic/rubber cover things that cover the fog light holes that was used on some of the m7 minis and several others I've seen.

Cheers!

Unfortunately if you use the fog light location, they'll act in the opposite manner that driving lights will. The BC1 will automatically switch them off if you turn on your high beams.

depends on your taste, I wanted small light fixtures, bright and inexpensive, since in my experience, between bugs and rocks, all my driving lights eventually break. I know this isn't true for everyone...

I used Outmotoring's bonnet bracket (you can put them in a variety of places, including very close to factory look), easy and quick install

I then found a set of 4inch 55w lights for $25 a pair. they light up the road great, easy to install, just a great light. I can try to find a link to them if you want.

total cost: outmotoring bracket ~$52 + ship
driving lights, ~$25/pair

$77, not too shabby for something the factory charges a LOT for.

Addition: here is a link to a thread with tons of options for Rally/driving lights.

I have a set of four on there, but you could easily do just the outside ones as described above.

Thanks for the responses! I forgot that they turned off with the highs, have to make a harness I suppose then. Thanks for the thread on the light types to that helps a lot!
