HID Help R53???

recently bought and installed aftermarket HID kit for my non HID 2006 R53 cooper S lowbeam and foglights

and the foglights work fine, but the lowbeams would turn on, partly charge up then flicker, then shuts off!!!

any help would be great

What brand of kit did you use? This might help if someone diagnose the problem.

You can't just buy any run of the mill HID kit. It needs to be K/Can Bus compatible. The car has a data wire that runs round, even including the lights. If it doesn't like what it sees it will shut them off. I bought a Wide View kit from www.HIDS-direct.co.uk . I haven't had any problems with it at all.

oh sorry guys, i didnt update the thread, thought you all just kinda ignored it

got the lights to work, faulty ballast, then it did that whole fly by wire on the headlights thing

anyway problem solved, manufacturer warrantied the ballast no problem no questions

3K,yellow is pretty common
got myn at hidlook.com
they have all sorts of special colors
