Do I have to buy a separate ...

wiper switch stalk with the red tip for an alarm system, or does the alarm system kit already comes with it??? also, which kit to order? The reason I ask is I have an '05 MCS produced 12/04. My local dealer parts/accesories site has 2 possible choices for alarm kits, one says:
"Item # 82 11 0 306 852, this item fits years 2004",
then the other says " Item # 65 73 0 403 439, Alarm System - 01/05-on, This fits years: 2005 - 2006. Wiper Stalk or Light Switch required for complete installation...

So...... I have an '05 model year, BUT made 12/'04. Which kit to choose, and do I have to buy an extra wiper switch?

Any MINI parts tech. info. welcome!!!!

I believe product build month makes the difference.

Did you already look this up?

The show no difference in part no from 12/2004 to 1/2005.

I'm thinking that it depends on if you have the "facelift" interior... My 05 does not have the passenger airbag sensor, or the washerfluid low washer sensor/on the washer stalk....our cars are in an odd kinda stiuation...05's, but with the 04 interior more or less....real oem has proven itself Very accurate...the parts person at the dealer might be able to help...

If you want the flashing red light, you need the stalk. If you have the yellow 'low washer fluid' light, the left stalk is sold separately. If you don't, the kit comes with the new right/wiper stalk.

Mine has the facelifted interior (3-piece dash), no pass. airbag sensor, and it doesn't have the yellow low washer fluid light either, so I'm moving-on with the '04 build alarm system. So I'm assuming that the kit does include the red-tip wiper stalk then?
