Body Control Module

I have an interesting question for everyone. I just got my car back from a dealer in NY I have never been too. They were trying to diagnose the issue with my right rear tail light being out. They said they replaced the BCM and everything was working ok? Got home and the light is still out?? I am out of warranty but they covered the part and I paid $300 in labor. Is there anyway to confirm they actually changed the BCM? I only had one key with me here in NY, so they only programmed one. I am wondering if my other key that they did program will work? If so, is it true they did not actually change the BCM? I can't see why it would still not be working? Anything I might be missing? I just changed the bulb to make sure it was not that...

I just accessed the BC-1 and I am not sure the dealer changed the BC-1 even though they stated they did. Do you know if the whole housing is changed when a bc-1 is changed? The reason why I am asking is the picture of the BC-1 that was supposedly replaced still has the original sticker from the factory with the original production date of 8/24/2006? Is this common for the actual housing of the unit to be left? Am I am correct in my speculation that the BC-1 was not changed? Anyone have any experience with the swapping out of BC-1's.

Considering the part is like $1200 or something stupid, i seriously doubt they would give a part like that away. Also, $300 in labor is steeeeep for just a few bolts and less then an hour of time.

It looks like the BC1 (item #1 below) comes as a complete unit without a separate housing, except for a cover (item #9) over connectors on top.

I am just put of warranty by 5k. Documentation I received stated it was covered under good will. The unit itself is about $400. I know the unit does have to be programmed and they generally charge 2 hours labor. I did not mind paying that if it fixed the issue. I am wondering if they were going to bang me for a few more hours of diag labor then swap out the BC-1 and say there was some sort of loose wire. I am have never been to this dealer in NY and I am starting to wonder if they are trying to screw me.
