Radio Issues?

I posted this on phillymini but knowone knew what the problem could be so I hope you all may be able to help. My 2007 cooper has been having some really strange radio issues. Whenever I start my car the radio will switch from radio to aux. It only does it when it's been sitting overnight or for extended periods of time. Sometimes when I stat it the radio display's Aux Error, I just switch the input to radio and everything is fine. The radio remembers my station when my key is inserted but once the start/stop button is pressed it freaks out.

I took my car in for an oil change before heading back to school and told Mini of the Main Line the issue but they could not reproduce it. Does anyone have any ideas of what the problem may be?

I've had the same problems. You either need a new battery or the one you have needs charged.

I was thinking the battery could be the culprit. Thanks for reaffirming. The Mini dealer said the battery was fine but I don't believe them. When I drove the car nearly 3 hours back to school it sat for a few days and then started up fine without switching inputs. Today it's cold and rainy and my car switched to aux once started. I'm thinking of calling AAA to get my battery replaced. The nearest Mini dealer is 2 hours away and I really don't want to spend 200+ on a battery. Any suggestions?

Exactly, Mine seems to do when its cold, I too had my battery checked and was told it to was good, but it seems to start a little sluggish, but I didnt think it could be a possible cause. Let me know how it goes and vise versa.

I paid $160 for a battery at Autozone that had more CCA, fit perfect and had a vent. I have a real short commute and the radio started acting funny again. Got new battery replaced free and went to Sears and got a $25 battery maintainer. Problems solved. With the 2nd battery, I did go to the dealer and had the battery replacement programming done for whatever that might be worth.
