I pod adapter

Does anyone know if this item will fit my 2002 mini cooper R50

It will physically fit, but if the HU has a production date of August or earlier, it won't work. The early units didn't have the firmware to allow it to function.

thats what I was afraid of the build date of the car is 05/02 so I guess Im screwed any idea if there is a way to do it

Just get a newer OEM head unit. They're pretty cheap these days.

Or get a Grom Bluetooth unit!

I have it, it is fairly plug and play minus running the mic cable and the performance has been stellar

If your Mini has OEM Navigation there is a GREAT solution for using an IPod with it. Th NAV screen allows you to search and control your iPod. You may have to find one in England but I have the Intravee II and wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING.. Great unit and becomes a virtual CD changer using the existing wiring to the rear right well in the boot. The adapter to use it is an Alpine product and they are usually available as a set. I think the number is KCA-45. If you can find one, there isn't a better way to listen to your music.
