Electrical Coding for JCW Big Brakes

Coding for JCW Big Brakes
Has anyone successfully coded their ABS/DSC module after installing JCW or aftermarket big brakes? I'm putting together a plan for upgrading the brakes on my Clubman, and I see the Mini has in their procedure for updating the software for "Retrofit Sport Brakes". I am trying to figure out if this can be done through NCS Expert / Dummy, without having to make a trip to the dealer.

This is what was added to the VO. You'll need to code both the CAS and the FRM. If you are going to try it with ISTA, you'll need ISTD-P. For what it's worth, the Protool has totally replaced NCS Expert for me on the second Gen. They are still developing the first and third-gen, so the options are a little limited on those platforms.

I have been considering purchasing Protool. I have used NCS Expert and have Bimmercode/Bimmerlink. What's another app.

Cool. If you have an Android device already, that would seem to be the better option. I have an iPhone, so I would have to also purchase a cheap android device to use the tool. For me, it was worth just hitting the dealer. I already have Carly for diagnostics and coding. Carly doesn't support the JCW sport brake kit option, however.

Yah, I don't do I-things. The other thing is if it is like BimmerLink/Code, I can load it on my Android head unit and have it with me all the time. I keep a USB to K+DCAN cable in my glove box. If a code pops up, I connect the cable and fire up Bimmerlink, find out what is up and either clear or correct the issue. I also have a good BT device but it works with Bimmer but not Torque Pro. I have a cheap ELM 327 that stays connected to a Y cable to run Torque. I can still connect my K+DCAN cable that way if needed. I also prefer to be wired when coding just in case if you know what I mean. I have an adapter for it also so I can connect to my phone or my tablet. It just gives me a bunch of options if I need it.

I did a try before you buy with Protool. Ended up going to their website and finding out you have to purchase their BT device (or a Thor brand Wifi). I have three OBD BT devices already (a cheap China ELM327 knock off, a Veepeak BLE+ and an OBDLink CX and none of them work with it. I understand the knock off, the other two are good products.
It does work with my K+DCAN cable but on their page it states it might not actually code with it and they recommend purchasing theirs. I think I am going to buy the app and try it with my cable. If it doesn't work, purchase a Thor adapter. At least it will work with some of my other apps.

Some say they haven't but if you ever get into an "OH SH*T" moment and slam on the brakes and the ABS take over, it could cause more harm than good. Life is good and I like living it so my life is worth more than a couple hundred $$$.
(Also, it justifies me getting another tool, Bimmergeeks Protool, for my car.)
