Fog light switch

Hey,

A customer of Mine has an Orciari body kit and wants to wire in a fog light switch. Anybody know who makes a good switch that we could mount under the steering wheel. MINI makes a factory panel with a switch option but its $200 bucks! I think he's looking to spend more like $40

Thanks

Justin

I have had a Orciari body kit for a while now. What is he going to do? install factory fog lights or try to install aftermarket? Might be easier with the OEM lights and the Orciari kit.
The actual switch panel is a lot cheaper than that (at least when I bought one for the rear fog lights).
For $200 sounds like an OEM retrofit kit which should include the switch panel, wiring, and lights. I don't know for sure.

Hey Frodo!

Thanks for the help! He already has the fog lights installed. I'm just looking for some where to buy a good switch. Once we find that we're going to run some wires.

No problem. Keep in mind I am no pro Are they OEM or aftermarket? If they are aftermarket I would recommend using a relay. This way the switch would only have to operate the relay and let the relay deal with the amps of the lights. Depending how you set it up (relay activated by ground), you can just run one wire to the switch-to-ground. I am sure there are more people here that have more experience with that.

Good luck,
Frodo

RadioShack and electrical supply stores tend to have good finds if you it a couple, also over in the interior mods forum there is a setup of 3 OEM-esque that someone put together, its been active within the last few days I'll see if I can find it and link it.

Here is what I was thinking of, you might be apble to adapt it to suit the particular need, especially if they plan on adding addition accesories in the future.

Unfortunately, this designer is not responding to posts or PMs and seems to be MIA.

This is another option but I think you will need the switch bank that has the fog light switch.
