Electrical Adding an MP3 Port by the toggle switches??
ElectricalFor discussions regarding wiring up electrical modifications such as radar detectors, brake light mods, power sockets, and driving lights in Cooper (R50), Cabrio (R52), and Cooper S (R53) MINIs.
So I am going to add an input for my mp3 player. I was thinking it might be slick to add the female adapter (I so don't know the right terms here) adapter where I have my toggle switches. has anyone done anything like this? any thing I should be aware of?
Thanks,
Bryan
This is a duplicate post but no one answered the thread in the other forum.
In the toggle bank, or below it? Below is no problem, in it might be. IIRC there is is circuit membrane behind the toggles which would make it tough to run the wire. I put mine in the upper part of the cubby below the switches. Out of sight, but easy to get to.
Mine is in the side of the left-hand downtube (so it faces into the cubby), just below the toggle bank, works great and there is plenty of room to run the wire down the downtube from the back of the radio
That is the exact info I needed. I so thought it would be cool to come out of the bank where the toggle switches are but not if it will break things!! Thanks for the info
