Formula 1 Racing at Hockenheim (18-20 July)

Anyone going this year?

18-20 July at Hockenheim, "FORMULA 1 GROSSER PREIS SANTANDER VON DEUTSCHLAND 2008." Website is here.

USO Heidelberg had a sign up, saying that they had tickets (though I did not stop to ask how much).

Last year, we toyed with going up to The Ring for the race; this year it's at Hockenheim. And I seem to recall that for the Mini Challenge date, there was something of a spirited drive and, if I remember correctly, something about Smiley giving lessons on drifting. Might be a good chance to do it again, since Mini Challenge seems island-locked in Australia this year.

Formula 1 -- one thing I did not do while here; I wish I had.
Driving with Smiley -- need to do that some more.

Cost of tickets

ABU, I stopped in at the USO and tickets for the weekend started around 150 Euro min. Those were the bad seats. The seats I was after are 450 Euros each for the 3 days.....I passed

Sounds about the same as last year.

Once in a lifetime, my friend, once in a lifetime....

Oh yea, Smiley was definitely drifting! My daughter now knows what the smell of burning tires smells like! I think his brakes were a bit hot too if I remember correctly. We do need to do the Poppa Bear run again sometime.

Abu, I am trying to email you some pics of some of the mods I have done in the past week or so.

I went in '06 at the Hockenheimring and my wife got me a seat in the Mercedes Tribune for all 3 days. It wasn't cheap, I'll say that! Conbo Father's Day/Birthday/I'm a great guy and welcome to Germany dealio though.

Last year Chris and I went to the GP of Europe at the Nurburgring and I believe it was 150 or so Euro for general admission... We're probably doing it again this year. That'll be the weekend before I deploy so it's pretty much a moral imperative!

abu, do you have the PB and Swartzwald runs in GE posted somewhere? I definitely want to get those before you depart for future runs.

Cheers!!
