MINI Connected Services Update Breaks Wireless Apple Carplay

MINI Connected services updated on my phone yesterday and no I don't have any way to get wireless Apple CarPlay to work on my 2020 JCW CLM. Evidently it's become a huge problem overnight - my dealer reported 9 people called in alone today to tell him the same thing. Incidently his personal 2020 Countryman is having the same problem. Evidently there is no fix and BMW is looking in correct the software issue.

I first noticed that I couldn't connect to CarPlay around 11 am central on Thursday. I connected the Mini Assist while in the vehicle and was told there's a widespread outage for both BMW and MINI. I was told they hoped to have the problem resolved in 24 hours. Still no resolution 2.5 days later.

I called my local dealer and I don't think the outage is app related. It appears to be a more widespread problem affecting both MINI and BMW owners.

I'm glad I saw this. Having the same issue and was going to have the dealer look at it when I'm in for service this week. Good to know it's related to Mini Connected and not a hardware issue, heh

It’s kind of frustrating and hopefully they’ll get it resolved soon. I have a RAM 1500 with CarPlay and it has a wired connection. I find myself not using it frequently because of the wired connection. I bough a CPlay2Air USB dongle. It’s great when it works but connections to my iPhone drop frequently. Until this outage, I used wireless CarPlay in the Mini 100% of the time. It connects immediately and has been rock solid in my vehicle.

I called Mini support yesterday. They're still working the issue. The rep said look for an update to get pushed out to vehicles this weekend. He said check it out on Saturday or Sunday. I sent an e-mail to my service rep at Mini of Nashville Monday. I received a call and was told they'd received numbers complaints. Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Received this from the service manager at Flow Mini in Raleigh.

1. Navigate to the vehicle's Main Menu, and select MINI Connected
2. Press the "Option" key on the physical control ****
3. Select Update MINI Servies
4. Return to the MINI Connected menu, and select Manage Mobile Devices
5. Delete the phone from the MINI completely, and delete the MINI from your mobile phone
6. Finally, select Connect New Device and follow the instructions on the screen to finish pairing the phone and setting up with Apple CarPlay

Hope this helps!

I really hoped that would solve my problem but no luck. I deleted the connection from my iPhone and the Mini then updated MINI Services. Still no option for CarPlay when connecting a new device to the Mini . I'll try it again in the coming days.
