Mine has been stuck at the port since 4-11 with a broken speaker grille and my MA said they won't release any car that has broken parts. How did you get yours released?

Great MA kept pushing to release it. Need to talk to the GM. It still took an extra 10 days to get it.

My status finally changed!!!
Ordered: 4/12 from Wisconsin
"In production": 4/14
"In the body shop": 5/9
Hotline still says completion on 5/13
I have been trying to gauge how long it will take to get here post production but haven't really seen any good numbers on here. Was hoping for about 4 weeks from completion. Does that seem far off?

Or to keep it simply you can ask your MA.

The 800 number will tell you a little lower level detail (e.g. Mine says "in paint shop" right now) and the customer reps at the 800 number will have the best detail of where your mini is at.
Note: if your car is just "in production" it is hard to get any kinds of details as it is not actually being bult yet, just assigned a VIN and such. I was patient and it eventually changed about 5-7 days before it's completion date (also given by automated 800 number)

Hmm. Well hopefully it will change for you in the next couple of days. Mine was "in production" for about 25 days. Then "in body shop " for 1 and now "paint" for 3. Not sure how accurate it is so I am going to call and talk with a rep tonight b

Hi All - Finally got account reset so can post now.
We also have a 2014 MCS HT coming across the pond.
Ordered it on 3/29/14 from MINI of Portland, but the Sales Mgr pushed the button before we confirmed the order, so had to reorder with correct specs on 4/8/14. Was told that it would set the production date back a week, but only delayed it by one day. The MINI Owner's Lounge had it stuck in "Scheduled For Production", but we found out from the 1-866-ASK-MINI Customer Rep that our MINI was "birthed" at the Oxford plant on 4/18/14. Then it got stuck in "Awaiting Transport" mode. In actuality, our MINI was received and booked passage on the Morning Chant on 4/25/14.
We did some research based on earlier Forum posts and put our VIN into the Cargo ID field on this website:

Came up with the vehicle carrier vessel, the Morning Chant. Finally was able to confirm with our MA on Monday (5/12/14) that our car was indeed on that vessel. Voyage # CD418-MAT departed Southampton, UK on 5/8/14 and is due into Port Hueneme, CA on 5/29/14. However, the Live Marine ETA is a day earlier...supposed to be about 27 days from Southampton through the Panama Canal to Port Hueneme. Then about 10 days from Port Hueneme to Portland, OR and through dealer prep.
It took MINI USA at least 5 days to update their Owner's Lounge Track Your MINI, because we can see the ship and track its movements on the Live Ships AIS Marine tracking site at:

Our MA told us that they are advising customers that 2-tone cars (i.e. black or white top) will add an extra 3 - 4 weeks to orders because of a shortage of paint...really! They are advising people with this option that it will be 18 - 22 weeks to get their car. Also, they still are saying the way to avoid delays is to order the Fully Loaded package because there's a shortage of certain Harmon Kardon components and the fully loaded packages are being given priority for the sound systems.
Obviously, we're excited, especially since we plan to do the entire MTTS from SF to Boston this summer. Can't wait! Happy Motorin'!
