this could be great news if it really gets there but as i'm reading others state, it still needs to go through more inspections once it hits US Soil.

Update 3/19/14: dealer left me a voicemail today (PrestigeMini in NJ) and told me what i had already confirmed...that the car was en route. he mentioned it was getting dropped off at a port in bayonne NJ and that i should expect to hear from him early next week.

Jeez, this is like the release of a new iPhone. Next think you know we'll be lining up at midnight at the dealerships. They might have some sort of nationwide release day party to show them off. I think the Scottsdale dealership has a little track out back and stuff. Order today and use your tax refund as the deposit!

Just confirmed this with my dealer as well.My MINI was actually delivered to the dealer today and they said I can visit anytime to see it. If they tell me that taking photos is okay, I will take some. I was also told that no test drives will be allowed until the 15th. And nobody would be allowed to drive mine anyway since I put down a deposit.
A bummer for sure, but I'll just have to be patient. 3 weeks to go! LOL.

correct. that's what i was told. they want to make sure all dealership have inventory and do a mass release on all of them. works out anyway for me. out on business until 3/28, then i leave again until april 11th....the car would have stayed parked the whole time.

Hope so, Terry. I tell you, I am upset about the fact that my MINI was delivered to my dealer today and will now sit out in the elements for three weeks before I can take delivery. While I understand what MINI is doing, I've NEVER heard of a customer waiting 3 weeks to take delivery when their car is there at the dealer. This is an order with a $1000.00 down payment. No, not happy. If the car was stored in a warehouse, protected from the elements, I could accept it much better. But stored on the lot, outside in the elements? No.

This is ONLY a Suggestion.
Go get the MCS Car Cover and either You or Them put it on your New MCS.
That's what I would do.

Guess I'll jump into this one as well.
orderd: 3/12
production: 3/19 (estimated completion 4/1)
I'm in Kentucky my port will be baltimore.
MCS volcanic Orange, cold weather package, premium package 2, wired pack, 16" black wheels, black bonnet stripes, alarm.
new to mini's, selling a 3/4 ton diesel truck for the mini. Should be a huge change.
Sucks to hear some of you are waiting till the 15th with your new ride just sitting there! that might be harder than what you've already endured!

That seems really fast. More or less a week after order its got its schedule for production and completion date estimated. So in reality this was basically saying from the 19th your Car was expected to start getting built on the factory floor and should be ready on the 1st of April for transport.
Does it update at what stage it’s on or is this the best info you have got? After all it’s the 27th now.

I don't know if they are doing it with the MINI, but some car makers schedule a color at a time to reduce downtime and waste from clean-up. Reduce waste so they can say they are being friendly to the environment.

I placed the order on the 12th, didn't get the PO number until after reading through this forum and had to ask for it (actually I had it the whole time on my invoice but never realized it) My MA isn't very helpful, I've been calling the 1-866 number. The nice people on the phone yesterday said it was in the body shop and due out on the 1st. I hope that it actually makes it out that fast.
