F55/F56 Velcro around the seatbelt buckle?

Velcro around the seatbelt buckle?

Test drove an F56 over the weekend and noticed something I hadn't seen before. On the F56 there's velcro around the seatbelt buckle, at least in the one that I drove:

Any reason for this specifically, or is it just to avoid harsh scraping against the seats?

A lot of car manufactures are adding a soft cloth to the back of the belt housing. It is typically to avoid scratching against the trim.

Got it, thanks.

That's what I figured, but I wasn't sure if it was a combo of protection + some velcro Mini add-on option like that thing I saw on Shark Tank to fill the seat gap.
