Automatic car wash at dealer or a bad wash mit , dirty water.

Yea, from the port it can pick up some over-spray, and in transport.

Looks very nice! Great color combination & interior choices too! I have a question for you: How do find shifting with the MINI rubber floor mats? I had a hard time getting used to the feel of the rubber because the heel of my shoe on the clutch pedal seemed to drag on the rubber mat...maybe it's just me, but I ended up removing them & going with the stock carpet mats.

I haven't had any issues at all with the rubber floor mats. No dragging of my heal or anything. I'm very happy with them.

Thanks for the reply. It must just be me getting used to the car...the clutch is different than the BMW's I own (which are older cars)...must be the angle of the pedal or the mechanism. I do much better with the smooth carpet pads for now....and I don''t have big feet!

Great car! Nicely equipped the way I'd like. Question on the JCW Interior Sport Seats - is there a lumbar adjustment?

Thanks! No, there isn't a lumbar adjustment. (But personally, I've never needed/wanted it. The seats are quite comfy for me as-is.)

Thanks for letting me know. I have an R56 with base seats and am thinking about next purchase and options.

I am really digging the Red roof with the white body. Looks like they added the chili red accents , nice find. Think black wheels would look really god on that combo.

I wasn't there when it happened but my understanding is that when you buy the car new you ask the dealership for white leather seats.

Seriously though - I dont know. This car belongs to my mother-in-law, who has asked me to sell it for her. Beyond what Ive read here in the last few days I know nothing about MINIs. What I wrote above is pretty much what she told me happened re the seats, and I have a ~$2500 receipt from the local MINI dealer for the work. Maybe they farmed it out to a upholsterer...no clue. Actually I was kind of hoping you guys would know.

Lost of MINI dealerships used to do this in The Gen 1 MINI days 2002-2006 where people asked for customs seat leather, it was a bit of an expense. Katskins, custom shops, etc Looks like they are still doing it.

There appears to be a logo for Katzkin in one of the pictures - aftermarket replacement seat covers - which to my knowledge can be ordered in just about any color you can imagine. Which is also probably why the seats look a little loose, in comparison to the factory leather options which appear better fitting.
