4) does anyone know who makes the lowest width 5x112 hub centric spacer available (66.5 CB)?
This is very discouraging news for those that wanted to run aftermarket wheels on a dropped suspension. With MINI's narrow wheel designs and high offsets it makes it almost impossible to change them out. As of right now the only wheels that are somewhat appealing are the JCW 506's. Hopefully the fJCW will have some more wheel options when it's released.

Bummer......

We will know more when I get my coilovers on!

I'm going to go with 12mm spacers to give 18x8 ET33 all round.

Quick picture showing the shorter front plate I have fitted - UK road legal letter size and font - just a smaller plate itself

Interesting that the 18x8 +45 is that aggressive.

I have a set of 17x8 +48 wheels that I'd love to run on an F56 if I go that way in a couple years, might be a little tight!

Bolt pattern is 5x112, correct?

I think your ET48 rims may be in danger of fouling the struts by the time you have tyres on them - the clearance inside the arch really is that tight!!

Yes, the PCD is 5x112 - what rims do you have?

Plates in the UK look so much better than plates in the US! I'm going to have to resort to getting a platypus mount for my F56 but even then I'm not to fond of how off center and angled it looks... Still better than drilling holes in the already ugly bumper though

R99, do you have a picture of your car with the bumper removed? I'd love to fab up a grill that filled the entire cowl, I highly doubt any cops would notice if that 'bumper' was missing

R99, also, when you bought the new 'S' grill, was/is the 'S' badge permanently affixed or did you have to apply it? I'd love to order the grill minus the badge for my justa, it looks much much cleaner!

No pics sadly as my body shop guy did it for me

There is a thread on here though that shows it without the bumper fitted

Your car is looking fantastic. Are you going to color match the black plastic fender arches too?

I think the front looks clean, but, IMHO, it needs something...a black (matte or otherwise) or chrome feature somewhere.

It's slightly bland, but very clean.

I think the bumper crossbar would've looked better in black. But that's just me.

Definitely looks better than the chrome puke all over the nose.

I will be upgrading to the JCW bumpers as soon as they are available - so may explore other CC'ing options then.

Anyone able to photoshop a white bonnet scoop and also photoshop the small bar at the bottom of the honeycomb grille in white too?

I'm debating ditching all the CC'ing in favour of a black grille surround / bumper strip and putting the original gloss black bumper bar back on (the bit where the plate is)?

Am I stupid?

I would have to see them both side by side to make a decision. I do however like how yours looks with the cc'd parts, but I'm not sure I would like it better than the blackout.

Maybe a photoshop is in order?

That's the route I'm thinking of going, I figure if I can't easily eliminate the ugly bumper bar, then I'll try to blend it in....

I'm debating adding some nice buck teeth when I get mine. Maybe a thick glasses frame around the lights too?

Another quick update…. the car is currently subject to a warranty claim for some rather suspect looking paintwork on the front bumper :(

I had originally thought it was just a poorly polished prepped area and the issue would be resolved with a machine polish. To the dealerships credit, their warranty administrator has looked at the paint and he believes its actually a paint issue from the factory and therefore a machine polish will make no difference :(

Have a 10 day wait now for BMW to decide the next course of action - I have been told that most likely they will want to repaint the bumper.

I'm a little gutted about it to be honest, but I need the car to be right!

The only bonus is that the front bumper will be coming off, so if I can make my mind up about going with a black front end I can probably ask MINI to fit the bits at the same time

That's great looking. One of the only mods I did on my 2007 R56 was replace the shift ****/brake handle with African burlwood and some other exotic wood ones. They were very different and hard to make. The guy who make them only made a handful to sell. There used to be some big shift **** seller that did a lot of metal ones.
