I don't think the Countryman will be getting a facelift for a few years. Really looks like they're continuing to roll everything out slowly.

It's actually why I was hoping to see the new F55 on there. My wife is wanting a Countryman, but now that I've got my new F56, I want the new features on what my wife gets. Though the F55 may be too small for what she wants.
I am in the same situation as you. My better half wants the countryman but when I look compare the two interiors, the F56 is much nicer in my opinion. I am surprised they won't carry it over. May just end up purchasing a X1 instead for her.

If what MINIwuff said it true, then I will be surprised. I am sure they will bring the feature set to the countryman, just may take some time. I guess that just leaves more time to save up.

specs won't download

Since the configurator updated, I'm unable to download the specs that I configure. The only thing that downloads is the picture. Both in Safari and Chrome. Anyone else having a problem downloading? Would like to know if it's them or me to troubleshoot.

The F series do have variable wipers unlike the R series vehicles. There is a **** on the wiper stalk now, where my old car just had the button on the end. I do not have automatic wipers either.

You are correct. I am having the same issue as well. I have tried chrome, firefox, safari, and Internet Explorer and no luck with any of them.

The only offering w/ the new 3/4 engines and body makeover for 2015 is
still the Hardtop?

With the new 4Door hardtop in the wings? F55?

Maybe the convertible?

Motor Authority has articles on both Convertible and the Clubman redesigns. Convertible as a 2015 MY and Clubman as 2016, at least according to those links if they end up holding true, both using the new engines and new interiors.

That's great news. I stand corrected for the R56.

So what I'm gathering is there aren't hardly any truly new features on the 2015 F56 that many were hoping for like the front camera, the automatic cruise control that they have in Europe. Which makes sense because the car was only released 6-7 months ago. IMO one thing to wait for is the JCW body kit which I think was only $1300 for the 4 pieces.

Nope, the only change really is the cost and forcing you to add options when you choose certain items/packages. There are a few more options to choose from (fiber alloy dash for ex.) but generally it now costs you ~$1500 more than a 2014 if you want the premium package and connected.

Thanks for posting this heads-up. Although base price has gone up, it seems that automatic climate control is now standard (where it used to be $500), so the difference for my proposed Cooper S build is only $300 more. I can live with that, the price of procrastination.

My build is quite a bit higher. I've worked it a few different ways, and the "worst" way was about $1800 more, most of it in the mandatory camera and park distance thing. The "least" way was still about $400 more, but I dropped some of what I want.

So, what to do? We keep our cars on average about 7 or 8 years--often longer--so the real question is whether or not the 2015 model year will be a better deal when I do sell, AND whether or not the camera stuff will be worth it at the time of resale. I think the 2007s got a bad rap, although my particular car has been quite reliable. First year cars can have that problem after all. I don't see that with the 2008s, even though the only differences are a USB port and the auto-up windows!

Not sure what part of my post you are referring to, but to be clear, the next generation (F60/F61) Countryman/Paceman due for a 2017 launch will share all of the engines, technical goodies and interior upgrades of the current F56. It is important to note that the interiors of the F54/F60/F61 will be DIFFERENT from the F55/F56/F57 because the chassis is wider and longer. MINI will give the "bigger" vehicles a slightly different interior look that will take cues from the Clubman Concept model recently shown.

The new F54 "Traveller" will be more like the 3-series Touring (wagon) in size and character than the F60 which shares X1 chassis/size. The next generation F61 Paceman is expected to become more X4/X6-like and will be sold as a 4-door "coupe" rather than a 2-door. At least that is the current thought process. As with anything, it could all change by the 2017 roll out based on market and customer reaction.

Current schedule:
F55 4-door this September/October
F57 Convertible Summer 2015 (may be delayed)
F54 Traveller Fall 2015
F60 Countryman Fall 2016

I got a text message this afternoon from my MA that the requirement for rearview camera and alarm has just been dropped. The configurator isn't working right now, at least it won't save a new build or pull up a previously built configuration. Hope it's working tomorrow. I guess they must have gotten a lot of complaints about the additional $1500 the fully loaded package cost with the camera. It would be nice to have it, but not $1500 nice. And I have no use at all for an alarm. Not everyone lives in a big city without a garage!

Woah!

I've got to call tomorrow and see if I can get the alarm taken off my order.

If I could, that would be great.

I guess I can leave the backup camera and PDC on -- if you already had the Heads Up display in the build, it really only added $850. And in my case, I got the dealer to give me another $500 off, so it was really only a $350 add, and while I've never hit anything backing up my 2009 MCS, I have had a couple of backing up "uh oh" over my driving career.

Though I hate to go back as on Monday I told them I was done with changes. lol.

P.S. Configutator is working now, but still adds in these options, so if these requirements are dropped, it's not reprogrammed yet.

Dang. I was enjoying how much money I'd saved by ordering a 2014. But I'll still have my MINI much sooner.

I just ordered my base fully loaded and yes you don't have to order camera and alarm anymore. I am in the first week of 2015. Now I sit and wait. I am happy camper hopefully in 8 weeks

Waived Ordering rules

In case you haven't heard, Mini has waived requirements for certain packages.

Motoring File - MINIUSA Eliminates Ordering Rules for the F56

This of course also made my build price go up, good thing I already ordered.

Why do you say that? The F55 already started production and it's on the UK configurator. USA will lag a couple of months, but it won't be long.

I've been researching soft tops for a while and have also determined that I'll have to wait for the newly configured model. Specifically, the interior upgrades like on the F56 are what has me wanting to wait. Being new to MINI I'm guessing that the F57 will included these upgrades. However, dealer has been unable to confirm and haven't found much on the web either. You state F57 Summer 2015. Can you confirm this will include the interior mods and are you suggesting available in summer of 2015 or do you mean summer model year 2015, which would be soon.

Thanks!

Hello fellow Bostonian! Who is this close friend? Since the F55 is now available in dealer allocation to modify, why wouldn't the public be able to configure one on line soon? Is there something mysterious happening we don't know about? Please share!
