Stuttering on acceleration.

Ever so often usually during acceleration I get a stutter. It's almost like it's the turbo kicking in and off real fast. If that makes any sense but kinda the only way to describe it. No codes or anything just very annoying it did it twice this morning on a shirt 10 minute drive. Anyone heard of this? Gonna call dealer today.

Are you in sport or green, or even switching from green to sport?
I get this every so often when cruising in a constant speed in sport and then trying to hammer on it, it seems like it may be getting too much fuel and tripping over itself. Same thing happens occasionally when switching from sport to green after cruising.

I stay in sport mode, and how you describe it is pretty much right on after I think about it. It's very annoying.

I've had a similar thing happen to me in sport mode, I'm usually in 3rd gear and if I slow down and reach around 1800-2000 rpm and accelerate I get like momentary stutter/vibration. I called my dealer and they said it was because my rpm's were too low? But that's the only time I can reproduce it.

Hmmm mine did it today I was In 6th running about 55 and gave it gas to go around a car on a 4 lane road. Sooo annoying supposed to take it to the dealer next week but with no code I'm sure nothing will happen.

My 89 mustang is carbureted and it happens very often in similar circumstances. I thought it was weird that a fuel injected would act the same.

I get the same thing occasionally, only happens when operating in sport mode, I've noticed that it happens when trying to hammer down but the RPM's are not above 2000. I'm no performance expert but I'm thinking that what ever "sport" mode does to change timing, and other parameters it must require you to be really getting on it.

in other words, shift to a lower gear to keep the RPMs higher ( greater than 3000) and I never had a repeat.

That's what I was told when I called...I should not let RPM's get that low. It doesn't happen above that.

Not likely saying anything you don't already know, but 6th gear on the manual tranny is a real overdrive, cruising gear. Most overdrive gears have very little quick acceleration, and you must shift down to 5th or even 4th to get quick power. This particularly so if your RPM's are low. I don't think it's a car problem but maybe I am not understanding the exact amount of the "stutter".
Also, if one is driving an auto tranny, when you hammer it in a hiway cruising gear, the tranny downshifts for you. If a manual, that's why you drive a manual, to have the joy of shifting.
