I see comments like this more frequently lately. Why?
Quite unnerving for first time MINI owners. At least I feel that way.

He's comparing a brand new car to a 15 year e39 Beemer chazman. Don't worry about it. Every car has its issues from time to time. I mean my car just had some sensors go bad at 700 miles. There is no rhyme or reason for it but I'm a firm believer that within reason, your car will treat you well if you reciprocate.

And to the op, these spots are normal. You will notice it on xenon equipped vehicles as well. It has to do with the lense of the projector itself. You could always do some sort of retrofit but it would hardly be worth the time and cost.

Chazman - Don't worry.
You have purchased a car that is designed with driving as it's first design point.
If you had wanted reliability then a Honda Civic is your car.
Most German cars are a little temperamental. Ever owed an Italian car. I've had a ton and you just love them to death they have so much personality ...but they (in my experience) were not that reliable. German car bridge the gap for me. Still fun to drive but more reliable. This is my 4th Mini. My 2003 Cooper had virtually no problems. My R56 had a some - mainly the DMF clutch and a phone mic that never worked properly.
I've already had a new gearbox in my F56 but I don't care because BMW are generally good about fixing their mistakes.
So ...just enjoy the car it may give you years of trouble free motoring!

I have another car with LED headlights, not a MINI and I will pay the price any day there is no way in hell that I'll go back to Halogens and is not because it looks pretty, reliability on the LED headlights is great so far, no problems at all .
