I think I'm in love with rev match shifting
Drove two F56s today (one justa, one S), and I'm in love with the rev match down shifting. I never learned to heel-toe, but I've gotten pretty good at quickly sliding off the brake, blipping the throttle, and getting back on the brake during corners over the years. Still, it's a little dicey during that split second where there's no braking and I've never been able to take corners as hard as I wanted to.
I was extremely impressed with the rev match down shifting where I could stay on the brake through the whole corner while also (very smoothly) down shift to pull out of the corner hard. I don't plan on getting a new MINI anytime soon, but I think this is the #1 new feature that excites me. I found my self up shifting and down shifting on the test drive just for kicks because it's so smooth. Very cool feature for someone who knows he'll never have the skills of a racecar driver.
