Auto stop/start not working

Anyone else had their auto stop/start quit. Mine hasn't worked since Sept 9 when coincidentally it wouldn't turn off. No, the a/c is not even on, and I don't use auto climate control, just let it be what it wants to be.
Yesterday I also noticed if I go into settings the "green" option is not even lit up, I can't get into it, but I can't remember what's in there. Should it be lit up, and what options are in there?
Anyone else experiencing anything like this?

Let's just check the obvious... Is the led at the tip of the stop/start toggle switch lit or off?
If it is lit, then the stop/start mechanism is in the off position.

Tried that already, I've had it on, off, tried holding it thinking that might reset it. It's definitely not lit, yet I still always see the auto stop/start "A" with a line through it every time I stop.

Take it to your dealer and have them diagnose it.

What model do you have and how many miles on it?

F56 Justa, manual, and it's got approx. 1200 miles. I was hoping someone else might have had a similar experience since the dealership is a 4 hr round trip away, let alone how long they'd take to look at it.
Basil is a little quirky, he has also powered down my radio and lost all my presets once, re-locked all my doors when I start driving even though that was not an option I had ever used (and it had never done that before). He has a mind of his own at times, but I still love him.

Before taking to a dealer, how about just giving them a call and ask if there is anything quick & easy you can try? Making a call to MINI corp's consumer services dept and asking them for the same thing is not a bad idea either. Tell them taking your car to the dealer is a great inconvenience for you.

Good idea. Sounds obvious but sometimes you just don't think of these things yourself.

It seems worth trying a disconnection of the battery (and leaving for ten minutes for anything residual to creep away) to see if that 'reboots' whatever is causing the problem. No guarantees, but it won't hurt.

Doesn't it sound like the car has already done that for the driver?

I was just about to post the same thing. +1 for this idea. Plus, it's easy to do.

If you're not accustomed to doing this kind of thing, you disconnect THE GROUND WIRE at the battery. DO NOT DISCONNECT THE +12v until the ground has been disconnected. But for your purpose, removing the ground for the suggested 10 minutes ought to accomplish whatever can be accomplished, so there's no need to disconnect the +12.

FWIW, BMW has sometimes used screwey color-coding on their battery wiring. As in Brown for ground and Black for +12, which IMO, is highly nonstandard and non-intuitive. So be it. Therefore, if you're going to attempt this, VERIFY WHICH TERMINAL IS WHICH before you proceed.

Are you keeping track of which fob you are using?

It's like the classic Blackberry "battery pull"! Worked every time.

I am the sole driver of the car and only use one fob, the other is tucked away in the spare "key" box. Thanks though, I appreciate all the helpful advice. Keep it coming.
