I have experience welding and cutting but i need some advice. Does the replacement pipe have to heat treated or anything?

Where is a good place to look?
What size diameter?
What else should I be concerned about?

Thanks guys

I know these are noob questions but please put up with me. I'm learning.

Are these two pipes welded or bolted together at clamp 4 in the stock image?

The other image is from this thread:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...success-2.html

again, is it cut from the rest of the exhaust or is it just a bolt on bolt off?

Looking for info on how long a replacement straightpipe would be? is 2' enough? Plus what should I do to support the rear end. I know that the stock muffler is on a hanger and i assumer you'd have to do something different for a straight pipe

Honder,

Check out the way the muffler shop put a new hanger for my straight pipe... seemed easy enough, fit right into the stock hole. The hardest part for them seemed to be getting the right angle in the pipe for the tip to come out the back end aligned. They used 2" pipe.
