ECU Reset Process

Is there is a process to reset the ECU? I know in previous cars this was a recommendation when installing new modifications. I have searched the web with no mention of a process for the f56 anywhere.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

You could disconnect the negative side of your battery. Don't know why you'd want to though. I've added multiple mods and never had a problem.

Thanks, however that does not reset the ECU on our cars. While you may not have a problem, doing a reset after mods has its benefits especially if you do an idle re-learn. If you have an automatic transmission (like me) there is also an active "learning" process that is ongoing. If you drive like a granny, it will remember that and react accordingly. On my 5 series it was the same, battery disconnect would not reset the ECU, you would have to turn the key, hold the trip reset and cycle to the option.

A reset every six months would pep things up quite a bit.

I wasn't able to find anything in the hidden menu.

Your unlock code is the last 5 digits of your VIN added together.
