Mini F56 S: anyone deleted muffler or resonator yet?

I'm looking into it but so far I'm little bit lost.
I want to add just a little bit of volume to stock exhaust.
But I'm not sure if removing resonator would be enough? Or keeping resonator and removing just muffler?

Any advice/ideas welcome.

Thank you.

a few have done this including myself. I removed just the muffler and I like the additional sound. It is not too loud and never drones. I also have a rear seat delete so I imagine if you still have your seat in it would be even a little quieter than what I'm hearing.

As far as place where I can have it done.... Any specific things I should be looking for? I don't want someone to butcher my exhaust system and also don't want to be overcharge for the labor.
So far stopped to one place and was quoted around $100 for muffler delete and str8 pipe.

^ that's about the going rate from what I've seen. Any good shop can knock it out in an hour.

Try to get stainless steel as opposed to aluminized steel as our stock is stainless and won't rust out as fast (especially near salt and snow regions)

so far I went to 2 places in my area..
Here is another question... lets say in future I decide to sell my car and would like to put that muffler back on.. I was told at one of the places I would need to by new muffler, since this one wont be able fit any longer due to the cut out.. the other place told me, it wouldn't be a problem.. whats your experience guys?

thanks

The stock muffler can be reused

None of the local places have stainless steel pipes. Looking locally seems rather difficult too.
Was wondering if anyone ever ordered it online?
I was told to look for 2" diameter.
Also considering putting new stainless steel tips - they have those in stock and they are already form in Y, versus the stock tips, which would have to be cut out from muffler and welded to aluminized Y pipe (since they don't have stainless steel, unless I find one).

Thank you guys so far.

just finished this on my '14S - really satisfied with the sound/appearance - found a MagnaFlow 2.25" with twin angled stainless 3" tips - purchased thru Summit (less expensive shipping to the 50th state) - pics on request - gooo ruck

It's 2.25 in because it's an even metric measurement. Kind of a pain to fund in stainless, I ordered all my piping from the uk.

Darn it. I ordered 2.5" from Amazon. That means it won't work then.

It may take some adjustment and the flow out won't be perfect but it is still do-able. You can always call your shop to see what they can work with

I've expanded 2.25 to 2.5. Just need an expander tool or an adapter to make them mate up.
