Hi, I just had the Union Jack taillights installed by a Mini authorized aftermarket place and noticed that when I start the car, they do this cycle for a few seconds. Is this normal? TIA.

Nope not normal. You need to check if hot/cold bulb monitoring is on since these are led and not incandescent.
You can achieve this with BimmerCode or Esys

I finally got an OBDII reader and Bimmercode. The warm and cold monitoring settings were already inactive. Any other ideas?
I also made the following code changes:
Save Start/Stop Setting: This one worked so now I no longer need to disable this every time I start the car.
Display Tire Temperature: This one also worked. I now see the tire pressure and temperature. Very cool.
Add Lock/Unlock Chime Checkbox to Doors: This one didn't work. The checkbox now appears on the settings central display but I cannot select it.
I suggest you go to You Tube and follow MiniVlog's procedures. He has detailed step by step procedures to code out flicker and such for the Union Jack taillights. I followed his steps and it works.

Thanks but I already tried it and it didn't work. He seems to have an older version of BimmerCode but I found the settings he referred to and they were already disabled - and still flickering.
