Dang, once the statuses start moving, they really start moving. I’m really watching your status closely, cause I’m about 3 days behind you.

 

Per a text from my Mini salesman today, my car is assigned to vessel Asteria Leader with an eta to Los Angeles on 12/27. I googled NYKLine; their sailing schedule indicates arrival in Southampton 12/3 (tomorrow) and sailing direct to LA arriving 12/27. NYKLine shows another vessel, Graceful Leader, arriving in Southampton on 12/11 and sailing to Charleston USA arriving 12/22. Maybe that helps

Since I was last here, 2 status changes in the past 24 hours:

Moving along nicely for now. I expect the next major delay will be shipping it here.

Finally this afternoon, my car entered the "Awaiting Carrier Assignment" step. It was in "Quality Check" for all of this week and all of last week, minus a few hours this afternoon.

 

I’m hoping mine doesn’t need to be in quality check that long. Hope it’s not too long before your car is on its way.

 

Just checked again, status is now:

AWAITING CARRIER ASSIGNMENT
A carrier has been assigned to take care of your MINI.

Congrats! I’m thinking you (and Bruce) will be on the Graceful Leader arriving in Southampton 12/11. You can check it out on Marine Traffic app, free or I paid the$10/yr; or just Google the ship, good luck My status is “Dispatched from the factory”, and my carrier is 2-3 hours from Southampton port. Looks like your ship is docked across the channel in Belgium👍 (full disclosure: I don’t know a thing about shipping…)

 

I Googled, and it looked like that ship stayed on the other side of the Atlantic recently. How do you know that ship will come to the USA? I'm expecting mine will come into Baltimore.

I guess that's South Carolina? I still am not sure that would be where mine is headed, but unsure, of course. I guess we'll see.

Second edit: I found a post on here of how to track your Mini, and it led me to 2wglobal.com, which now seems to be a dead address replaced by https://www.walleniuswilhelmsen.com/. It appears there are a lot of ships leaving Southampton for Baltimore this month. Hopefully mine is one one!

Yes, I was going to suggest searching “NYKLine week 48 westbound”. Could be Mini uses multiple shipping cos, but that ship is a car carrier and seems to be hovering in the area. You’ll find out soon👍
Edit: more options than I realized; Baltimore makes more sense. All this ship tracking seems crazy.. until your waiting on a car.

Moving along very quickly in the past 48 hours!

 

Mine is also dispatched from factory this morning. It looks like we may be on the same ship. I guess if the sales guy is the person who can tell me what ship it’s on, I’ll give him a call this afternoon.

 

Nice! You’re probably right, they’ll likely both be on the same boat to Baltimore. I’ll have to call my sales guy as well. Getting really anxious now!

 

FYI, I sent a text to my salesman, and he replied and said the ship name is not in their system yet. I'm guessing it will be by early next week though. If you get info, ironhead3fan, I'm sure you'll share, since we're almost certainly on the same boat.

 

Absolutely, there's almost no chance that our cars will come on a different ship. I'll be sure to let you know.

 

Asteria Leader left Southampton a couple hours ago, hopefully with a full tank of fuel and my JCW order. Headed to the Panama Canal, eta 12/21. Cheers

 

BTW, my Motoring Advisor told me that as of yesterday, he’s not able to order a JCW now. Glad I ordered mine early enough!

 

Just curious. Did you get your Mini yet, or what is the current status? Mine is still Dispatched from Factory, and I expect a bit of a delay till it is actually on a ship. I'm just trying to get some sort of time line of how quickly/slowly things move, although that may not have any bearing on my situation. Thanks.

Still no ship info from my MA yet. But....it's a step closer!

 

Sounds good👍 My order status on Mini USA changed this morning from Dispatched from Factory to At the Port. I’m hoping my order got on the ship that left Saturday, and the website is lagging. My dealership is closed today so I couldn’t confirm.

 

I'm thinking that my car will likely leave Southampton on Dec 12, 13, or 15. I am hoping the 12th of course. If all goes well, I am thinking of a possible delivery time sometime between Christmas and New Year's Day, depending on how long our cars get held up in Baltimore. Bruce R's car and my car are almost certain to be on the same ship, going to the same port. We're getting close to the finish line now! It's been since August for me!

G-52, did you get a base, S or JCW? Just curious. I saw you said iconic trim, etc, but didn't see the performance level you ordered.

Congrats on getting yours much more quickly than ironhead3fan and me. He ordered before me, and you ordered after me, and all 3 are at the port now. That's great luck.

Maybe all 3 will end up on the Patriot together coming to Baltimore on 12/23. That gives us nearly a guarantee of getting them by year's end. We'll see. I told my MA that I thought my car would be on the Patriot leaving 12/12 and arriving 12/23, and he said there's still no ship assigned to my car, but if it ends up on the Patriot, he'll buy me lunch at California Tortilla (regional taco shop in DC area, which also happens to be very close to my dealership). So it it does end up on the Patriot, it will be an extra win for me.

Maybe ironhead3fan can get Josh to give him the same deal.
