@cjv2 Thank you! I am digging back into this today. I installed some rear Euro Union Jack Tail lights and got them coded and wanted to dim the rear fog/running light so I was digging in the thread. I am going to add some notes here, since this is where I seem to go to find anything. lol

Very cool buncha stuff @colinsk -- gonna take me a bit to review in detail -- but I can add for you that "POL" per my memory is Position Lights. Those would be the running lights that sit inside the fog lamp assemblies in the front bumper cover.
For a definition of TMS (and some other BMW control unit acronyms) see this link. How that translates into the varied parameters I never quite figured out but the LED involvement (vs non-LED) is presumably critical.

Lots of interesting stuff about it, but one thing I puzzled out from looking at it: in the document, something using PWM always seems brightness is controlled by specifying a voltage, while "fixed" seems to always have a percentage attached.
Hope this is of interest. Who knows how long that doc will be there so might want to snag a copy.
